Where have I said that people shouldn't give their opinion?

Please point out the exact quote in my post that says 'people shouldn't give their opinion'.

I was answering your points and just remarking that as Chris has probably put it all behind him (and doesn't bear any grudges), then why shouldn't we follow his example.

It's the level of abuse on here toward the winner that I find hard to understand.

And that's what I protest about.

Wow I can't believe how sour this thread's turned since the first 3 pages when I last looked! (Well actually I can, so never mind! )

Just wanted to (tentatively) add my tuppence worth:

I've been a Suzanne fan throughout the series, and was so glad to see her win it - I never thought it would happen in a million years with Chris there! However, I do feel she was overrated - as Pinkelephant said earlier she hardly ever touched the ice in the flying routine, Zarrah did even less - so for a (IMO, obviously ) more technical routine Chris should have been credited. I felt her 'Music' routine was absolutely perfect though, definitely better than Chris' 'Cry Me a River' (despite what the judges said I still wasn't feeling a connection with Frankie on Sunday in any of his routines.)

Overall I'm glad Chris made it through to the final because he consistently provided a spectacle each week, but I felt Suzanne should have won just for the amazing progress she'd made week by week to get where she was on Sunday, not to mention the fact that she can provide the full package: great solo skating (especially in 'Music'); a wonderful connection with her partner; and beautiful grace and personality on the ice. To me, Chris is a fantastic skater, but that's it really - I feel he didn't have as rounded a talent as Suzanne.

Oh - and I can never understand people who say they can't warm to Suzanne, to me she was by far the nicest and most gracious contestant, and I thought each of the final three were lovely!

I do read the showbiz forum (and have been doing for some time. I've even contributed once or twice in the dim and distant past)- and I'm appalled !!!

(Mind you, I also read the general and politics forums and it's just as bad on there!).

But worse, are the Yahoo boards .... they're VERY scary!

Actually, the abuse isn't as bad on here as it could be but I do wish people could win things on TV without people crying 'fix' at every opportunity!

I think what everyone tends to forget is that the Great British Public vote in these things and this Board is not always reflective of what the voters actually think (and neither are polls - ask those on the Politics forums!).

Anyway, I'm dead chuffed that Sizanne won. I would have been just as pleased for Chris had he won too, even if I preferred Suzanne. I don't do sour grapes - I prefer the sweet ones!

Just watched it again- I could watch it over and over (how sad is that)?

Karen said to Chris, "You are one of the best things ever on DOI.' and Nicky said 'best skater' not best celeb.

You're going to wear it out at this rate!!

I wish I could watch it again! I loved all the performances (even though I, too, was blown away a little more by Suzanne's).

Watching again - and taking more in, I think one of the major strengths of Suzanne and Matt was their relationship. Even during training they constantly made eye contact - even when they were laughing and fooling about.

Fred and Zaraah had a good relationship too, and if there was something slightly lacking in the Chris/Frankie partnership I think that was probably because of their routines - which were choreographed to show his solo skills.

I said all along that Chris and Frankie didn't seem to have quite the connection on the ice that many of the others had - and I said all along that it was due to the choreography, not down to Chris and Frankie themselves (who seemed to gel really well in the VTs).

They did compensate for this in the final, and they were wonderful. But I do agree that Suzanne and Matt had a superb partnership and it's that (plus the dancing ability, skating ability, interpetation of the music, complexity of the movement on the ice - which Suzanne had despite any naysayers claiming otherwise ) which wins competitions (plus that special magic that sometimes happens to a competitor in a final). (And I'm not just talking about DOI here - I'm also referring to the actual real ice skating competitions, where Jayne and Chris made their names).

There you go. Your criticizing other people for simply saying what they think. Its what forums are for! And also I gave straight forward criticism and not meaningless cheap shots. I'm not criticizing you for disagreeing with me, I just think it's wrong to condemm everyone as immature for not 'moving on' or whatever you want to call it.

Sorry just to repeat an earlier question, is there going to be another Champion of Champions with Chris, Suzanne and Zarah against Clare, Duncan and Kyran?

No, I wasn't criticising others for saying what they think, but if that's the way you interpret my post then obviously, I'm sorry, but here's not a great deal I can do about it.

I have never condemned 'everyone'. I don't 'condemn' (again if that's your interpretation, then I'm sorry, but that's never what I have done).

I have said time and time again that there are a minority on here (ie this board), who take cheap shots (and I have always included in that those who take cheap shots at any of the celebs, not just those who do it at Suzanne. And that's what I have found distasteful. But all I have ever done is express my opinion of that.

And as you have pointed out, these forums are for everyone's opinion. I was expressing mine, so who's being hypocritical now ?

Anyway, this is just semantics. This is, after all, just a TV show and not that important in the whole scheme of things.
