On This Morning Phillip Schofield said that Chris was gutted that he didn't win, and he thought he had in the bag before the show, Jason agreed with him saying that Chris was really gutted.
Also lovely Matt had to go back straight to America, so he wasn't there.

Of course Chris was gutted though. He lost something he had been working for for about 6 months. Anyone would have been.

You mean Phillip thought that - I hope Phillip wasn't saying that's what Chris thought.

I'm pretty annoyed with how a lot of the presenters and judges have been conducting themselves. Suzanne was a worthy winner but why does every feel the need to put Chris down. I certainly don't think that Chris felt he had it in the bag or that he would say such things. Of course he was disappointed, everyone in that show wanted to win. It's just a shame that some people can't respect what a great competitor he was and leave it at that without sticking the knife in every five minutes.

Phillip was way out of order to say that.

Chris was gutted not to win - he said so himself (and whichever one lost would have been gutted to lose out after all those months of effort and great performances and you'd not expect any different) but I dont' think he thought he had it in the bag. To me he looked really nervous waiting for the results. I think he knew that Suzanne had skated a blinder and just might pip him at the last. I also thought he took it very well when she did.

Missed This Morning unfortunately. Sky engineer was here

He has impressed me as a very nice young man throughout the series, with boundless enthusiasm and energy and certainly galvanised the other contestants into some amazing performances too.

Chris did a great Bolero and had some fabulous performances throughout the series so I'm sure he hoped it was enough.

I loved it when he said he thought of himself as an 'ice dancer' now (rather than an ice hockey player) Good man - much better sport!

I thought Philip Schofield was completely out of order to say that Chris thought he had it in the bag. It's probably true that he was gutted, but then so would anyone be if they were to be pipped at the post after months of hard work & training. Jason nodding his head vigorously with a grin on his face while Philip said this really annoyed me. They should remember that Chris provided a great deal of excitement and pleasure to viewers throughout DOI, & the show would have been a lot poorer without him.

Im sorry, but if anyone has watched This Morning all through DOI they would know that Suzanne has ALWAYS been Phil and Ferns chosen one (with the exception of Micheal spl?) and Chris has always had the sly snide remarks made about him

Jason started to get digs in about Chris because Phil hinted about Chris's 'advantage'

As for Chris being gutted, wouldnt you be after being told by TWO of the Ice Dance Judges that you were THE BEST CELEB that had ever been on DOI.........a Suzanne win makes a bit of a mockery of their comments doesnt it

Come on everyone dont be naive we all knew who was going to win last night

Suzanne was good and better on the wire than Chris but the whole night was geared fo a win for Suzanne

I also think the tour has a lot to do with who wins

Its become quite apparent that the three finalists were a lot closer then the press would have us believe. All three of them have all acted graciously and kindly towards each other and congratulated or commiserated when the need arose. They have behaved in a far better manner then the presenters and judges this year. All three are great role models.

I didn't catch all of it, but she explained that her previous experience in dancing & gymnastics & Chris's in ice hockey brought advantages & disadvantages because there were things they had to re-learn & do differently on the ice. She said her partner wasn't there because he had to fly back to the U.S, today. She said she didn't think she'd win because female voters usually vote for males & this meant she could enjoy the final more. She talked a bit about her son & apologised for what she was wearing on This Morning.

He was saying what he saw, after all he was there, and to be honest Chris did think he had it in the bag IMO.

There is no need for it though. IMO I don't think Chris ever thought that at all. He was always full of praise for Suzanne's ability. Philip shouldn't have said it, what was the point? Suzanne has won and she was amazing. Discuss her performances rather then try to run Chris down even further.

His interview on ITV was very gracious and lovely. He didn't seem bitter in the slightest about the result. Even said Suzanne deserved it. Seems he's not the arrogant monster a few want to make him out to be after all...

That was quite a b1tchy thing for Philip to say, imo - even if he thought it - I'm surprised at him for being so tactless.

what I dont understand is why you all think that Phillip should not have an opinion as isnt that what we have all being doing on here.
Yes he said it on TV but it makes no difference now to the votes as the show is over.

I do not know Chris so I would not presume to call him an arrogant monster, but from what I saw, he gave the impression he had it in the bag, which is obviously what Philip saw too. I disagree, it was after the show, why shouldn't they comment.

agreed!

people should never get too complacent even if they are hot favourites to win a show, the same thing happened to Rhydian (xfactor), and it only leads to greater disappointment
