Now that is a serious offence - give me time I'm sure I can think of an appropriate punishment. Withdrawing access to her hair colourist and plastic surgeon might be a good start

Yup! I think Suzanne was smiling because she had a great time and had resigned herself to losing. Chris, in my head, seemed to have realised that Suzanne wiped the floor with him, hence his nervousness. When Suzanne's win was announced, he looked crushed, but he ignored that and immediately went to hug and congratulate her. When it came back them, he had his arm around Frankie and seemed to have accepted his loss quite quickly.

Yes, Suzanne said she fully expected Chris to win so she just relaxed and enjoyed herself and didn't worry about the results. Chris was definitely a gracious loser.

So now you would like to restrict what I have to say too.

Where will you draw the line on this I wonder?

Let me make this very clear. people are upset about Phillip making a comment about Chris even to the point of saying he shouldnt express an opinion on the show after the show has finished. then they say yes he can express an opinion as long as its a nice one. I believe he has the right to express an honest opinion after the show has finished and if you dont like it then Im sorry but thats life for you.

Secondly certain people coming on here raising the most obtuse claims about show fixings because their favourite lost out deserves to be shot at dont you think.

At the end of the day it is a "light entertainment" show which should be enjoyed on that basis.

Lets face it folks - we are applying our intrepretation of people's actions, words, etc - none of us can ever actually KNOW what people where feeling, meaning, etc.

It was a great final, the finalists all seemed like nice people, I have a feeling we are obsessing about this way more than the actual participants ever would!

And again, if you really want to get offended:

Free speech is free speech you cannot pick and choose which bits are allowed and which arent as that then becomes censorship. You can express you displeasure at Philips comments you cannot however declare that he "shouldnt" have said it, and thats the difference.

If Phillip had said everyone thought Chris had it in the bag, without specifically mentioning Chris's name that would have been kinder and true. I thought Chris was home and dry - which probably made my euphoria when Suzanne won all the more pleasurable - but I couldn't help empathising with Chris.

As for censorship - I see your point, but surely consideration for fellowman dictates showing some understanding of how he felt. If I was to lay down my life for my country - it wouldn't be to preserve Phillips right to kick a man when he's down and then stamp on his head.

Now I'm running up the white flag and calling a truce- and that has got to be a first

Did Chris appear on any programs yesterday. I saw Zaraah on GMTV and Suzanne on This Morning, but didn't see Chris at all. Anyone know if he was on?

Chris is unable to appear on TV programmes until Fridays because of his Hollyoaks commitments. Unless of course the show has been filmed previously and is not live.

Thanks for your reply Mr Fox. I didn't think I'd missed him. I wonder what they would have done if he'd won. Surely he would have had to be on then.

They would maybe have done a video link to him on the Hollyoaks set? I don't know really.

But didn't he appear on GMTV, This Morning and Loose Women a few times during the run of DOI? None of them are pre-recorded.

I realise that my question could be construed as me implying that Chris could have been there but chose not to. Before anyone gets upset on Chris' behalf, please be aware that it's not my intention to make Chris look bad, nor am I disputing what Mr Fox said. I'm merely confused

He has appeared a lot less then any of the other competitors. He's only had very few appearances during the week. I'm not saying that he hasn't done any, I'm saying that Hollyoaks dictates as and when he can do these interviews. Now that the show is over its obvious that they just want him to concentrate on their show.

Chris has been hugely supportive of Suzanne since her victory and very gracious in defeat. I'm sure that if he had the chance to appear in an interview with her he would. The skaters have all looked after each other, its everyone else that is trying to cause conflict. Such as TV presenters and the so called journalists.

There's a lot of behind the scenes marketing/salesmanship that goes on too - Suzanne, as the winner could well end up with a presenting slot on This Morning in future, so Phil and Fern will be primed to be "onside" with her - I don't mean that to sound like I'm having a dig at them - I just think it's the way TV works - like when they used to do "an audience with" shows and it's always the same type of audience that turns up - i.e. others that work on the same channel - I realise I'm not making my point very well but sometimes a contract with a particular TV company extends beyond just turning up for work each day - You become a bit of a commodity or mouthpiece too, I think.

he can comment on the show

but not on the celebs, the presenters are supposed to be neutral

thats how Dermott (BBLB) lost a lot of respect of the viewers
by constantly bigging up his favorite when he was supposed to be nutural

Yes he said it on TV but it makes no difference now to the votes as the show is over.”

Totally agree. People just want someone else to blame for the fact that Chris didn't win, I have received some pretty pathetic emails from "Chris fans" over the past few days asking Phillip some really stupid questions about the voting scores etc. Luckily I am not his agent and therefore don't have to pass it on, I just run the site!

Phillip is a lovely man, he just said what he saw after all how many of you was there?

To be fair, Dermott did it during the show, Philip did it after.

I have just finished reading this thread and I am amazed at how petty some people have got over something Phillip said on This Morning. Why aren't people having a go at Jason for putting Chris down in the media all the way through the competition? It's over. Phillip just said what he saw! I guess some people aren't happy unless they are slating someone as shown above.

As for one person saying they complained to ITV when Phillip answered a question Stephen Mulhern asked him on Defrosted in the first series, well I do wonder how much time people have on their hands.

I am sorry but I think it is sad to read all this negativity. Phillip is a lovely, kind man and would never go out purposly to hurt or be malicious towards anyone.

Worry not Phillip fan - I type very fast

Phillip could have said "I am a co presenter on the show - to pick a favourite would be unprofessional," but then again perhaps he is not professional.

I'm sure he is a lovely man and not intentionally malicious - perhaps he is best described as unintentionally crass - I found it quite sad that Phillip was insensitive to Chris and how he must have been feeling. Perhaps Phillip has forgotten that at 20/21 the highs and lows, the ups and downs are that much more intense.
