Won't Record
scooter_
17-03-2008
Bought my humax9200 just after Xmas, so less than 3 months old

I had a number of recordings scheduled over the weekend, some on series link and some selected individually from the Guide, but none have worked

I can't even press the Record button and start recording (it just brings up the time bar)

My previous recordings are in the playlist and seem to be ok, and I can still pause live tv

Has this happened to anyone else, and any suggestions ?

There is plenty of space left on the hard drive
Thanks

The recording menu is there, but recording still does not work from there - I had never used that menu before, so not too sure what should be there

Physically switch the box off on the back (or unplug it). Leave it for a minute or so and turn it on again.

after this can you record now?

If all else fails then watch or download any existing recordings then format the disk.

I was hoping you weren't going to say that

plenty of room on disk

I will try switching off for a bit

I had this problem, a reboot from the back sorted it for a short period but the problem soon came back. I did a reformat and havent had a problem since.

Working in IT , its just natural to me..... first thing you always tell someone is reboot the computer (which is what the Humax is really) and 70-80% time that fixes the problem.

HOWEVER, that said the Humax shouldn't get into that state so either some "bug" has caused it to happen or a mains spike, interference etc has.
