Is there a specific day when you are traditionally supposed to give out eggs or do you just do it any time over the weekend?

Easter Sunday.

I was never given them as a child. The bunny left them in the garden, and I had to find them.

That sounds really nice. The Bunny never came to my house because my parents gave me my egg

It sounds like a lovely spring-y activity hunting for eggs in the garden

An egg hunt is a great idea. I might hide eggs in my garden, have a few drinks and then go looking for them!

In France, the bells bring the eggs. The church bells don't ring at all through Lent, and children are told that the bells have flown away. Then when the bells ring on Sunday it's a sign that they're back, and they've brought the eggs with them, and the kids then have to find all the eggs that the bells have dropped on the way.

We were always given them at anytime over the weekend, depended on what day we saw our relatives.

I'll give my son his on Sunday + we'll have an egg hunt for him.

So mostly people give their eggs when they feel like it or when it's convenient?

That's good, I thought I was doing it wrong

I got mine from my mum yesterday I dont see her often, and so i tend to get things early - so i have them for the correct day. I will tuck in over the weekend.

I was quite gobsmacked by how generous she was. I received a tin of Roses, and a small creme egg easter egg.

My husband rec a massive slab of Cadbury's choccie, and a small maltesers egg.

WOW

When I was a child we got ours on the Sunday but couldn't eat them til we got back from church, I still think it was a cruel thing to do to children

I started getting them in this year when the offers were on in the supermarkets, I must have bought about 20 and we have 4 left

There is no day on which I will give an easter egg.

I will see my mother, sister, brother in law, and 4 yr old nephew on Sunday.

None of them will get anything from me.

Especially the 4 year old. He will I'm sure receive an egg from his parents, and probably more. In my opinion, no child should be given more than one standard egg.

Sounds like a great Mum!

BTW... I was shopping in Asda today and I have no idea how a couple of those Lindt bunnies found their way into my trolley
