On what basis could Nush sue the journalist? She couldn't as his actions were not in the slightest tortuous. (ie giving rise to a civil suit) He stated a fact, nothing more, nothing less. If she wanted to sue anyone, based upon what I've seen and read, only the NOTW (the maniac screwdriver piece) would be a candidate but she'd have zero chance as she has zero money - legal aid isn't available for defamation suits. Besides she would have to establish 1) it was false or, in a few situations, true but based upon malicious intent to damage her reputation 2) that she suffered loss as a consequence of the defamation . In summary, she'd have no chance. I agree with Harmston -lousy advice Jon, stick to something you actually know something about... ”
Think you got the wrong end of the stick here Canary (or do you prefer Captain?

). Jon didn't say anything to Nush about what had been in the papers about her. he was talking about if she wanted to sell her story to one of the Sunday papers on leaving. He told her that he hadn't but the others had, but would not advise her either way when she asked him what he thought she should do. He then said that, if she DID take a newspaper deal (that is where the most money is to be made), to make sure she got a legal agreement for copy approval (not a verbal agreement). That way, she would have the final say on what actually got printed and there would be less chance of her being misquoted as she would be able to sue them.
He added that in any event lies would still be printed about her. Nush kept asking him if she'd been dumped, but Jon just told her that he could only tell her about his own experiences with the media while he was "outside". He also advised her to talk to her Mother first before any other friends, family or BB contestants.
There was loads more stuff, but it was all advice on who was best to talk to when she got out. Although there were quite a few sound dips, none of what he said appeared to be about what had already been printed about her in the papers, which seems to be a misconception both here and in the house.
