Hello! Does anyone out there currently use the Orange Unique phone with Orange Broadband? Reading their website suggests that the mobile handset switches to your broadband connection when at home, thus improving coverage and giving voip call rates etc. When the handset connects to the Broadband is it still connected to the main Orange network as well so you continue to receive texts, MMS etc? I've tried asking in Orange stores and called them but no-one seems to know much about it! If you already have the service could you please let me know.. Thanks!

I don't know specifically about the Orange service but i've heard about other similar services by other companies. It isn't exactly voip, what happens is when you are in wifi coverage of your broadband the phone connects to that instead of connecting to the local mobile transmitter, so all incoming and outgoing connections to your phone are send over the broadband. It would still be connected to the local transmitter as a backup but while connected to your wifi everything, including sms, mms, gprs etc is connected to orange over your broadband connection.
