personally, i'd go with panasonic. very highly rated and have been recommended in the Which magazine.
i'm just about to seal a deal on a tv myself and i've plucked for Sony. Shoparound tho - i'm sure you could get it cheaper at an online shop like SoundandVision or DirectDigital. |

I spent 2 months looking at customers tv's before deciding. It all boils down to what equipment you are going to be connecting and what your main viewing preference will be (sky, cable, freeview).
I noticed a lot of sonys/pana's that gave a poor pixelated picture on sky but a great dvd picture. On the other hand, I saw some great all round tv's that gave a good, CRT like picture. I went for a Samsung 42" Plasma but would have also had an LG as I found both of these gave the best picture quality on Sky which is my main viewing media. Dont get conned by a demo in the shop running an xbox360 or HD DVD demo as you wont be watching this when you get it home. Ask to see a demo of the freeview channels or even the analogue picture to get a better idea of picture quality. I always suggest viewing the tv before buying, you may be disappointed if you order online without seeing the results 1st. |
