The hotel will have cables at reception.

Is the wired access in your room broadband?

If it is, it should just be a standard ethernet cable type connection. But ..... a lot of them will have some sort of dongle on the cable to stop it working unless you're using their cable .... so they can control who uses it.

Just e-mail the hotel and ask them ....

Most hotels I've stayed in just have a standard RJ45 ethernet port in - use any cable.

Most hotels which have wired ethernet in the rooms have an RJ45 cable already plugged in and secured to the desk or something. Just make sure you disable file and printer settings or put your firewall up a notch.
