No ITV2 & ITV3 EPG. No BBC Radio 1-4

My Humax has had the following issues for at least the last 6 months :

(6) ITV2, (10) ITV3
No EPG information at all.
When switching to these channels there is no audio for ~12 seconds, then the screen blanks briefly and comes back with picture and audio (still no EPG).

(700) BBC Radio 1 - (704) BBC Radio 4
Absolutely nothing. Ziltch.

None of these issues happen with my crappy £15 Sagem box in the other room, on the same aerial, so its some sort of fault with the Hummy.

I've read some of the other posts regarding the missing EPG, but there seem to be no actual answers on what the problem or resolution is here !

Anyone have any info/ideas ?

cheers

I think both issues are to do with changes by the broadcasters. The easiest fix is to do a reset to default settings on the 9200.

That worked an absolute treat, resolving everything.

Thanks !

Did you lose any recordings when doing this?

A reset to defaults shouldn't result in any recordings being lost.

Hi. No, as confirmed, nothing lost.

One bizarre side effect though....

BBC1 & BBC2 now have awful reception. Thought it might just have been a fluke with the poor weather, but it seems that after the reset, I now have these 2 channels tuned to alternative rubbish frequencies. Sorry if my understanding of how DTB broadcasts are made is wrong...

(1) BBC1 is on CH34 578000kHz 2k 1/32 Heathfield
(2) BBC2 is on CH34 578000kHz 2k 1/32 Heathfield

...but, the following channels have appeared which are fine and have good signal:

(800) BBC1 is on CH66 8234000kHz 2k 1/32 Rowridge
(801) BBC2 is on CH66 8234000kHz 2k 1/32 Rowridge

Can I set channels 1/2 to what is on 800/801 ???

Any help appreciated !

During the Automatic Search as part of the Default Settings process you've picked up signals from two different transmitters, you need to do a Manual Search to correct this, follow these instructions I prepared earlier:

The reason for doing a Manual Search is to target the six multiplexes coming only from your preferred transmitter, Rowridge by the looks of it. The UHF channel numbers for your six digital channels (multiplexes) from your preferred transmitter can be obtained from HERE.

First you need to delete all existing channels.
Menu > Edit Channels > Edit Channel Lists > Password (0000) and delete all TV channels, note there is a Select All button. Go to Group, select Radio and delete all the radio channels. Press Exit on the remote control and when invited save all the changes.

You will now get a message saying No channels are available……, press OK. You should now be taken to the Installation menu, choose Manual Search. Put the first number obtained above into Channel (actually the order doesn’t matter) and press Search. When the search completes, Save. Put the next number into Channel and press Search.....Save. Repeat this for all six UHF channel numbers and you will find all your Freeview channels on their correct numbers with none in the 800 range. Good luck.

Thanks for this help, again this solution worked perfectly.

Just to point out to anyone else trying this that you obviously need to pick the sub-transmitter for your area i.e. for me it is Rowridge/Whitehawk Hill.

Yes, good point, relay transmitters display the name of their parent in the Signal Detection section of the menu.
