Does anyone lese think he over does it, i think he puts it on to be honest look at the facts

1, He has started to say things different from way he has said them in past, e.g Gress (Grass) & Tool (towel)

2 , His Mother and Brother don't have as strong of an accent

3 , he has spent most of his time out of Orkney (e.g South africa, america etc)

4 , He's supposed to have been in Another country (South africa i think) teaching kids Enlish now out of all the people they could send why send a man who says stuff like oot, och, tool and gress instead of the proper words?

Another fake part about Cameron, I think so

Och Noooo

Since it is claimed that Cameron is fluent in Norwegian (and Japanese?), I'd like him to speak a little and demonstrate his multi-lingual skills.

His accent might be even more risible than his normal one.

Being Scottish myself I understand Cameron's accent but find that he is nothing short of ignorant in using his dialect amongst others. We are all capable of speaking English and indeed in varied company, is it not only polite to ensure that everyone understands what you are saying?

I see this as just another indication of how self-absorbed and shallow he is - he has made no attempt to accommodate anyone else within the house yet expects them to accommodate him.

I wonder how he would have felt if everyone had told him to speak properly or shut up???

I take refuge in the fact that the Orcadians prefer to be associated with England and not Scotland - otherwise I'd be embarassed to think he is a fellow countryman !

So you'd put on a 'telephone voice' for every waking hour over 9 weeks? I know I couldn't keep that up and would lapse into my own local dialect without thinking about it.

For me, both Fed and Cameron have 'normal' accents.

I know, it's shocking. It's about time all dialects were done away with and proper English was spoken at all times. Some of them are so unpleasant to the ear, and sound so strange!

Give me a break! I know I can talk normally, but still with a Glasgow accent. However I do tend to dip into slang or it gets broader now and then. Unlike you I'm not ashamed of my accent, and don't see it as something that has to be supressed for the sake of others.

I think you misunderstand what I was trying to say - there is a difference between an accent and a dialect. Cameron is using a dialect that he doesn't have to use - and yes I too have a dialect much stronger than Camerons but do not use it on a daily basis. I can however change my dialect when I speak to family or others who I know will understand it.

As to my accent - not much i can do about that - people know i'm Scottish as soon as I speak !

All this och aye the noo is a pile of crap - go visit Scotland and see how few people talk like that !

I found Tania's accent to be really common and cheap!

I think the point is that he's never even tried. Also, if all the 'international, multilingual businessman' stuff is true, he's probably perfected an 'RP' accent, but is choosing not to use it for reasons unknown(!).

Perhaps because he is relaxed and not in a business environment?

How? Tania had a pretty regular London accent. Does that mean the majority of a city of 7 million people sound 'cheap and common?'

At the moments that Cameron appears to be under the greatest stress (for example, his remarks in the Diary Room regarding how he'd like to fondle Lisa's windpipe) his accent is at its strongest. As for not being in a business environment...

Whether it's fake or not, it's a fantastic accent. You have to admit it is alot a fun trying to talk in a Camerooon Accent, I think he'd be a great advertising technique.

Is it just me or does anyone else find, if they are telling someone about something Cam said, they do it in the accent? I do the same with Stephs accent as well.

For anyone who's seen the South Park movie. Do you remember the way the Canadians said about. Cameron says it the same way and that reminds me of that

Perhaps it's because he's not at a business convention but is sitting around a hoose. I don't like the slimeball but there's nothing wrong with his accent or dialect, not for an Orcadian anyway.

A third of my family are Aberdonian and their accent is extremely close to Cam's, so it's easy for me to imitate even if I can't understand them half the time lol. Another third of my family are Hebridean, my friends have problems understanding them too, often thinking the accent is Irish. I have apparently picked up the other third of my families accent, which is Glaswegian but the W Highland lilt comes through when I'm drunk, angry or just overly excited. Gawd knows what people would think of my different accents and dialects if I were to go into the BB house lol.

I speak the Doric and sometimes I have to talk 'proper' to people who wouldn't understand me otherwise but it's very easy to slip in some local words. He probably doesn't realise he's doing it.

As for everyone having to lose their accents and all talk proper Queen's english is an awful idea! At school we always had to speak English to our teachers and got into trouble if we didn't - and now they're trying to bring back our local tongue as it's slowly dying out.

My mother was talking to someone English on the phone one day and couldn't understand why we were all laughing at her. She was putting on her 'pan loaf' voice and saying 'oh I ken, I ken!'

Ray's accent is not a pure Dublin accent you might be interested to hear.He occasionally lapses into hints of a London accent, any Dubliner meeting him for the first time would know he had lived in the UK for a while.
