RGB Scart V's Component
I became the proud owner of a 36" Panasonic CRT today.
It's only four years old, but the neighbours felt the need of a big plasma so kindly gifted it to me. It's in excellent condition, but it did take four of us to move it as it weighs a bloody ton ! It's got 3 SCARTS (two RGB), and one set of component inputs. Is there anything to be gained by connecting the DVD player using the component connections rather than an RGB SCART ? Would I lose the automatic 4:3/16:9 switching if I used component ? |

I can't see it making much diff.
It comes off the disc as Y Pb Pr and the TV (maybe...unless it uses some sort of double drive like they used on some CRT sets) uses RGB so the conversion has to made somewhere. |
