It's so obvious that Simon wants Carly as the runner up , with the whole Kelly Clarkson comment and the fact that she was in the "bottom 3" so early on in the competition (This happened to Katherine McPhee too)

Awww...I really like Jason. I think we're underestimating his popularity. I mean , he sang a song and it went straight to No.1 on Itunes afterwards!

Personally I doubt Carly will be in the top 3 either. Given that she ended up in the bottom three despite giving a fairly good performance I think America has taken a dislike to her and she will leave the show before she deserves to ...

I'd personally be wary of the "bottom 3" thing in American Idol
Plus the same thing happened with Katherine McPhee , when she ended up in the bottom 2 after a performance which the judges ravished praise upon.
I wasn't too sure about the whole bottom 3 thing either.
Maybe Kristy & Amanda WERE the bottom 2, (which wouldn't be particularly surprising) but the show/producers could easily manipulate the public and put a popular contestant in the bottom 3 to cause drama/shock/keep the viewers watching. I wouldn't be surprised if Carly was one of the contestants that received the highest votes - as long as they don't lie & kick her out despite having the highest amount of votes.
They can do whatever they want if they want to keep the entertainment factor of the show, it wouldn't be interesting if every week was so predictable.

I agree. The US public are as guilty as the UK public, if not more so, of thinking certain contestants are safe.
As you say, the same thing happened to Katharine. It also happened to Bo and Ruben.

I agree with you - Ryan says clearly something like 'America voted and you are in the bottom three' - no way could this be interpreted as anything else and I don't believe for one moment that the producers would try to pull the wool over the eyes of the American public who are a lot less willing to put up with being bamboozled than we Brits are!
