Hi,

I have a Samsung DVD-HR735 HDD recorder and a Samsung HT-THQ25 Cinema system and both have a similar problem, although not quite exactly the same.

Samsung Problem 1
The HT-THQ25 Cinema system will loose its SD/HD settings - that is to say when I set it to 1080i for the connection to my TV with a HDMI cable (and the picture quality is great...) after I have finished and I put it back in to stand by it will revert back to SD 567P when I switch it on again, there is no way to set it permanently.

Samsung Problem 2
The DVD-HR735 HDD recorder looses its input selection (ie input from AV1 or wherever it was set last) at 8.00am every morning!! - the HDD will spin up, the fan will start and the DVD drive will do a head seek (like an old floppy drive on a PC) and then it will go back in to standby. When you switch it on again after this, the input selection has gone back to CH01 for analogue input - as it is I don't have anything connected to the aerial socket.

Does any one else have this problem with their Samsung DVD kit or is it just me and/or does anyone know of a way to stop this from happening and keeping the settings permanent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Karl

Not sure about the first one, my Samsung SD DVD & Blu ray don't looses their settings. The second one (and this is just a guess) maybe updating the EPG (assuming it has one).
