Quite on the contrary what we talked about is the essence of the show itself, whether it will be an interesting show or not regardless the talent.
and i agree with mark that 'pop' will not appeal to American audience as much as others unless the contestant is a genius who can turn 'genie in the bottle' into something worth an 'american idol standard'.
