I wonder if anyone could help me, I bought a Motorola V8 yesterday and kept the O2 simcard from my old phone which the girl in the shop said would be fine. The phone is working fine for calls and texts but I cannot seem to get it to work with my computer for files, photos etc. I've installed all the files from the CD rom which came with the phone and I've downloaded the latest updates to the software but I'm still having problems. I've tried reinstalling the software several times but it doesn't seem to have had any effect.

At first the software says that it can't recognise the phone, then after I've manually chosen the name of the phone from the list it's got past that part. After that when I've got through to the section for file transfers between the phone and the computer it keeps telling me to insert the sim which is definitely already inserted and is working normally in the phone.

Any help would be very gratefully received! Thanks!

Make sure the phone is set to modem in the connections menu.

if it has pc connect thats the one to use,not modem thats only to use for internet connection.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help Bean and Billyboo. Managed to get the phone to finally connect today after changing the settings and reinstalling all the software again. Much appreciated!
