I've looked for it in both Asda and Sainsburys - and it's not being sold in either.

It was the only butter type spread my daughters would eat, so they eat sandwiches etc without now.

Should it not have a question mark?

Don't waste your time emailing Asda about anything!

I emailed them weeks and weeks ago about the withdrawal of some of their sugar free/diet soft drinks, and also about being able to buy something one week and then never seeing that item again.

I followed it up a week later with a snail mail letter with same comments and bringing up the lack of answer to email. Nothing.

Compare that with a complaint to Lloyds Pharmacy customer services via email which was answered within two hours and I was told that the area manager had been alerted and would be dealing with the complaint immediately.

I emailed Asda a few months back about a few of their soft drinks that had changed another they dropped completely.

They replied pretty quickly, with the reason they had been dropped because they wanted them to be sugar free.

They had a lot of complaints about them as most people had noticed the sugar-free variety was no where near as good as the previous sugar varieties and they noticed people were not buying them as much as before and not happy about the one they dropped completely and are looking at reintroducing them or changing the recipe again to ones that tasted like they did before.

I don't drink tea or coffee, virtually the only thing I drank was Asda's diet Irn Bru (diabetic so it has to be with sweeteners).
The withdrawal of that and several other varieties really hacked me off! They left us with (their own brand) orangeade & limeade which are absolutely disgusting, and a few other varieties that are either expensive, or tasteless.

I've bought Barr's Irn Bru which really is the best, I'll gladly admit. But at £1.42 for 2ltrs, it's a BIG difference to Asda's own that was 37/44p or 3 for £1 at times. Especially when you bought as many bottles as I did a week.

I've never heard from them either email or snail mail. And I was told by one of the staff that their mother had also done the same as me (both contacts) and had had no reply either. I think you must have been lucky!

Clover is the best butter alternative. Much nicer than ICBINB, Utterly Butterly or any of the rest.

Flora is the nicest margarine IMO.

You can't beat actual butter though.

If you want something to taste as good as butter, why not just buy butter - it's beautiful and natural and simply cannot be beaten on toast, everything else (even the spreadable butters) make the toast mushy - yeurgh!

I had this problem with St Ivel Gold. I couldn't find it in Morrisons or Tesco. I asked someone in Tesco and they said the Dairy who makes some of their milk, i cant believe its not butter and Gold had put their prices up so they moved to another supplier which means they will no longer be stocking their items. Asda is now the only place round here that i can get it.

I thought this too, not seen it in weeks and there's no label on the shelf indicating it could be out of stock. Instead I buy Clover or Utterly Butterly.
When I lived with my grandparents, I ate Flora because she bought it to keep my grandad's cholesterol levels down or something, but since living with OH he converted me to butter and I can't stand margarine

It's not been in our local Tesco for quite a while now. But they are selling their own version of it now, the name of which slips my mind.

Butterlicious? Or is that Asda's? Butter-Me-Up? Or is that the Co-Op? I used to think that own-brand butter substitutes would be my specialist subject on Mastermind, but I appear to have gone off the boil a little. Time to crack the old revision books out again I feel.
