The 'farewell' song for 'I'd do anything'?

Put this on the show thread but it got lost.

Does anyone know what the song is the 'Nancy's will be leaving to on 'IDA'?

Joseph has 'Close every door', Maria had 'So Long Farewell'...I can't really think of an appropriate one for IDA.

Me, the wife and ma in law have a bet on 3...

'I'd do anything'...'Be back soon'...and 'As Long as he needs me'...

Though none really fit for leaving? Does anyone know?

"As long as he needs me" is pretty emotional I'd have said, but I'm not sure about it being the farewell song either.

If a Nancy and an Oliver are both leaving, they could sing "Where Is Love" to each other...? Just a thought.

I thought the Olivers weren't leaving each week as it would upset them and us too much, whether the judges chose or not...or have I got that wrong?

but like that...'Where is love...from you 'orrible people for not picking us!'

I'd say Be Back soon, but who knows! It'll be interesting.

I would say "Be Back Soon" - but they won't be back anytime soon.

There is a song in Oliver! called "That's Your Funeral" but that would be totally innapropriate.

I'd be very surprised if it's anything other than 'Be back soon'. Can't you just picture the Nancys singing:

'Cheerio, but be back soon.
I dunno, somehow I'll miss you
I love you, that why I
Say, "Cheerio"...
Not goodbye' etc.

And then the eliminated Nancy singing:

'So long, fare thee well
Pip! Pip! Cheerio!
I'll be back soon'

I think it could work...

Exactly what I thought. You don't have to be a genius to concoct these shows, it's all there for you in the musical.

Of course, she could also be told she is obviously hated by the public, and leave singing 'Where is Love?'; or that she will not now be making her fortune so try 'Who will buy?'; or when asked what her plans are now, reply 'I'm reviewing the situation'. etc etc etc

Or they could also change the lyrics and do a version, that goes something like.

" if you dont mind being voted off by the public
Its a fine life!!!!!!

Be back soon, is obviously the right and most obvious choice!!

I'll miss the melodramatic overtones of 'close every door'. I thought it was quite funny the way the song implied that their lives were essentially over now that their dream of being Joseph had been cruelly extinguished.

'Be back soon' is back to the tongue in cheek sarcasm of 'so long farewell.' Though I wonder if they'll tweak the words, because once the Nancys are voted off they won't 'be back soon'

Close every door used to make me cry (I'm such a wuss!!)

I reckon it'll be as long as he needs me, since that's what they were singing during the "Barrowman Shoulder Bit"

Maybe they just won't - I don't think the Marias did.

I'd be happy if they didn't - I used to feel quite emotional seeing the departing Joseph removing his jacket...

Oh, I agree. I loved the melodrama of 'close every door'. Very moving (except when that idiot sang "for I have been promised a show of my own'. Whatever happened to that schmuck?).

But I still think it's okay to sing 'be back soon'. Just look at how many of the 'failed' Marias and Josephs have carved out successful careers. Being voted off does NOT mean the end of the world (except for the schmuck, whose name escapes me).

LMFAO i hated seamus from the start!

Close every door only made me cry twice, Rob and Lewis.

Maria just waved from what i remember! Nice little dance routine! no where near the drama from joseph!
And who can forget the curse of the coat?
