OMG the title of this thread was a bit of a blast from the past. How many of us are old enough to remember the days before 24 hour tv and 200 channels?

It was the best thing ever when Night Network started and we could come home from the pub and watch Hitman and Her and American Gladiators.

Did anyone else ever go to Mr. Smiths in Warrington during its heyday? Perhaps I've met people on this board years ago and never knew it!

Ah yes, Night Network. Was that when Graham Norton made his first TV appearances on that rather dire show, Carnal Knowledge?

In fact, it's rather depressing that a section of my memory is actually wasted remembering that show.

Oh goodness me, yes, that was even worse.

I used to enjoy James Whale, though, on a Friday evening after the pub (or was it Saturday?). At the weekend, anyway.

I think I remember the programme you are talking about I think it was caled Curtis Calls. Was the chef a baldy guy with glasses and when he was using a kitchen utensil he would come up really close to the camera and tell you what it was?
