Looking for advice!

About 4 weeks ago I had Tiscali TV installed, engineer was very helpful, very good.

However, problems started when I tried to record a channel and watch something else at the same time - when I was told there was a clash. Upon investigation, it appears that my box does not receive any channels over the air, they are all through the internet. However, before the Tiscali TV box was installed, I was quite happily receiving all normal and extra freeview channels with great reception through my HD TV (and still can if I put the aerial directly into the TV). And yes, I have rescanned several times.

After spending an hour or so on the phone with technical support, who agreed to raise the call to second line, I waited a week for a call or email, with no avail. Returned call to Tiscali, to be told by a very helpful lady that there was no 2nd line ticket raised, and no record of the call (always taking names down in the future). So she arranges for an engineer to come out. I have to cancel due to work, but rebook, and stay in ALL day Saturday last weekend awaiting the engineer (11-13H slot). No one turns up and no call to say why not!

Yesterday, return from being away for a night, to find that through HDMI I have no sound at all from the PVR, and that the picture has turned purple (only menus are not!).

Reboot in the proper sequence 4/5 times. Get more and more frustrated.

Try reconnecting TV to PVR through Scart instead of HDMI - now have sound back but still a purple picture (on all channels and recordings - although can happily watch a DVD through the HDMI attached DVD player (directly linked to TV) and not get a purple screen if I directly plug the aerial into my TV).

HELP!

Also, router takes ages for wireless laptops to connect - sometimes up to a 2 hours of rebooting both router and laptop before they will connect.

Wii does not connect at all, whereas was perfectly happily connecting to old router (Netgear RangeMax) - and yes I have changed all the settings on the Wii too and tried this several times.

In addition, the PVR box has started making a high pitched whining sound...

At the end of my tether - customer service is SO abysmal - that I will be shortly cancelling my subscription by cancelling the DD and telling the bank that Tiscali are in breach of contract.

In the meantime, I'm going to try to reconnect the box to the TV via all the approved methods, and if that doesn't work I will be disconnecting the box in it's entirety as well as the Tiscali router, and re-installing my Netgear router.

I'm willing to give this a chance as I understand it's in it's infancy as a service, however, I'm very close to buying a normal PVR box and telling Tiscali to take all the TV kit back.
