JVC 32DX7BJ & PS3 HDMI not connecting
Anyone with this tv had HDMI connection probs?. I cannot get my PS3 to connect to either HDMI port. Have tried all reset tips gleaned from PS3 forums and two leads, PS3 will not find the tv. Used basic composite con to set up system, display setting will not change to HDMI - screen blanks & returns to menu. Changing audio to HDMI produces error con to HDMI message. Have not used HDMI before, put DVD through component. Had tv nearly 2 yrs - superb bit of kit!

As an update to my original posting, the PS3 has been tried on a recent Philips set and the HDMI connected instantly. I think the PS3 uses version 1.3 HDMI but if this is not backward compatible with my 20 month old JVC it seems to make instant obsolecence the issue.

All versions of HDMI are backwards compatible.
If you are connecting the PS3 which is v1.3 to a display that has only HDMI v1.1/v1.2 you will only get the HDMI features of v1.1/v1.2 not v1.3. Have you done a search of your TV model to see if there is a wider issue here or tried connecting another HDMI device to the HDMI connections on the TV. |

Thanks for your reply, that is helpful. I have searched JVC for updates and have found nothing. I will recheck all tv settings and try to borrow another HDMI device. The only troubleshooting help in the manual says ensure lead has HDMI logo. I have used the Wharfdale lead suggested by Argos and a PS3 lead from Comet which has the logo and works on the Philips. I avoid Monster price leads (and cheap & nasty ones) - I cannot see that the lead would be the problem?
