Panasonic DMP-BD30 Available
The Panasonic DMP-BD30 Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player is available from Amazon at £350.
Has been for a few days, but I didn't want to say until I'd ordered one today

Not a million miles away from the US price with VAT and the usual markup with lower volume distribution in the UK either.

Near the top of the window you'll see a white space, remove whatever is in it and type www.amazon.co.uk and press......oh hang on, that's not what you meant is it... ![]() I've got it on next day delivery, I'll have to nip to Tesco later, wondering which Blue-ray to get first. |

Well, on your desktop you'll see an icon called "Internet Explorer". Double click on it.

Received Cars and Ratatouille in the box. HD is excellent, I had no issues playing Cars or Spiderman 3, they looked great. The player is fast to boot and load, faster than my Toshiba EP35. You have to put your ear to the player to hear the fan, so no worries there. TrueHD is superb, as it was on the EP35, but in this case you'll need an AV receiver to decode the new codecs as the BD30 does not decode them on-board. It does have Dolby Digital though, so you'll be fine on an older amp if you aren't bothered about TrueHD. DVD up-scaling appears to be the same as the EP35, I could not see any difference between the two. Very nice player indeed. Recommended. |
