Consecutive recordings
Me
25-03-2008
On Sunday I had scheduled

1) Lark Rise to Candleford - BBC1 2000-2100 (Series Link)
2) The No 1 Ladies etc. - BBC1 2100-2245 (EPG Accurate Recording)
3) CSI - Five US 2058-2205 EPG with manual padding

1 and 3 recorded fine, but 2 failed with a "clash" error message.

One of these days I will learn not to schedule consecutive recordings, instead to extend the first to include both programmes, but why did this happen?

By definition, it's impossible for both programmes to be the "now" programme (or should that be "The Now Show")so where was the clash?

Hi Me,

Thanks for your repy to my problem at the weekend

I have now gone through the reformat, though I was home and dry but had a further experience, somthing similar to yourself but was not using SR, EPG AR through the test

I have asked for help today on my thread so keep an eye there as I/we may get the answer or guidance.

I have also had a repy to my email to Humax Support so will work with them and report to you any progress that may help, as and when.

”

at least you can download No1 on iplayer and watch it - only once or twice and then it self destructs, but better than nothing, enjoy - it was great

Whenever I accidentally try to set 3 programmes to record covering the same time my Humax gives a message saying it cannot record all three so then I have to make a choice. Much better than thinking they had all recorded only to find one hadn't.

Yes, but two were consecutive and th third overlapped them - so there should not have been a conflict. This is one of the potential pitfalls of AR - what wasn't a clash when scheduled becomes one when a programme overruns. But that shouldn't have happened in this case - as one programme finished the second started.

All was not lost however, I noticed what had happened and only missed the first five minutes. Yes, it was great, and I only hope that the forthcoming series will be as good with a different writer/director.
