Salt and vinegar, standard. The either salad cream, mayo or ketchup. Or if I'm in KFC, gravy.

I remember seeing one of Anthony Bourdain's programs about Scotland. Obviously it had to start off in a chippy.
The battle of Scotland was Vinegar on chips in Glasgow and Brown sauce on chips in Edinburgh. |

Thats it really lol Scottish chippy sauce is great. Tried it when I was in Portabello (I think) many years ago. Wondered about it for years until I looked it up recently. I've seen recipes combining HP sauce and white vinegar, but I believe the chippies use left over vinegar from the pickled onions. Haven't come across Gold Star brown sauce, is that Scottish thing? |

I love curry sauce on chips - got to be quite thick though.
Or Chip with cheese and coleslaw - nothing beats it. And everytime they have to be smothered in vinegar otherwise there's no point hehe. |

I prefer either just mayonnaise or mayo and malt vinegar, but sometimes I'll eat them with ketchup.
