Simon gets this right but not popular with the audiance as he is the chosen one.

I actually liked the performance, BUT it's certainly not his type of material at all.

Still nice to see him try different things or people would call him a one trick pony.

God Bless the USA!!! Bound to be a winner.

I love Michael, but this from Kirsty is absolute nationalistic tripe. Hate it.

But the "Chosen one" never wins that show, so I don't get this chosen one thing.

Riddien (X factior)
Chris Fountain (Dancing on Ice)

All Chosen ones!

I'd hardly call it a theme park song though

As for Kristie - votecatching with that song......

Simon said it was one of the best song choices in years. Don't know if the audience got the irony.

Now here IS the one trick pony!

David Cook does Shouty Rock EVERY WEEK!

strange arrangement of Billie Jean but it grew on me as he went along

I like contestants that know their own style, no matter what style it is. David Cooke was fantastic.

Has Paula got her knickers caught in the desk or is she desperate for a Pee?

I don't usually like David C - think he's an arrogant P r * c k most nights but I have to give credit where its due.

FOOKIN' AMAZING. That note in the midle was brilliant

Also know as non-versatile one trick ponies.

I mean what song will he take and make into shouty rock next week? That's the only thing that is totally predictable in next weeks show. All the rest may do something different and interesting, but we all know David Cook will be doing shouty rock.

I find David C a bit pretentious sometimes when he performs but he was frickin brilliant tonight.

Just like the week that he aced Eleanor Rigby, tonight's performance was another bold rearrangement that totally worked.

On a separate note, I wish they'd stop ****ing with the timings of the show. I missed the first 20 minutes. Every single week, I manage to miss some or all of one of the shows.

Thats your opinion of course.

But personally I would rather see a distinctive style. I don't buy records from an artist because they can do multiple genres of music. If I can see convincing evidence from somebody who knows their own style then I am far more interested than so-so interpretations of versions which don't even suit their style.

David Cook - I normally like him, but I thought that this week was looking like a flop when he first started, but he really hit it once he got going. Brave and original, and most of all, he pulled it off.

Kirsty - UGH! Schmaltz overload or what? Simon was right though, it was a great song choice - to get the votes in, that is, as Americans love all that crap. That song should be banned from future AIs, as it probably gives the singer a buy to the next round, unless they really screw it up. Not wild about her, hope she goes soon.

David A - Awful song choice. Just the wrong song for him. Although I'd chose one of Simon's other favourite quotes "it was a bit karaoke."

Syesha - Nice to see she's finally getting some credit from judges, as I think she's great. Simon was still a bit luke warm, though.

Brooke - unfortunately missed her performance. But in the clip I saw she sounded as great as ever. Still my favourite.

Michael - Only really "noticed" this guy a couple of weeks ago, but I'm really starting to think he's good.

Thought most of them were pretty dull tonight, but thought Michael & David C stood out the most.

Don't really get what everyone likes about the young David, don't like watching him, and also you can hear him taking deep breaths after each line!

I know, that nasal thing does my head in too. He's got that Gareth Gates cute boy thing going on though, which gives him a big fanbase.

Michael Johns and David Cook were excellent tonight and Syesha definitely gave the best vocal performance, absolutely flawless

Jason Castro was by far the worst in my opinion, though I didn't understand Simon's enthusiasm over Kristy

My bottom three this week would be Jason Castro, Kristy Lee Cook and Chikezie Eze, with Jason out.

I agree - I was disgusted that she was allowed to choose such a jingoistic song - I can just imagine American voting in their droves - loved Simon's comments - hopefully if she sang that in a British talent show it would get her voted off right away! REALLY worried about Chizekie now - sorry he got suckered into such a dreary ballad, he sang it beautifully but I miss the edge he showed in his last two performances.

David Cook totally stood out for me tonight, I could have listened to him sing forever!
