Great show.

Ramiele Malubay -- Boring lightweight, but actually I thought she did this justice - until I heard how much improved some of the others were after she'd left the stage.

Chikezie -- really like his personality and his melifluous voice, but sadly he was voted out on this performance. Can't fathom why, he's so high profile.

Jason Castro -- mumbled his way through this tuneless song with little personality. I don't get him at all. At least he was in the bottom 3, so I don't feel that I am missing out on something that everyone else gets but me.

Syesha Mercado -- she said in her VT she was still a child but this was a very grown up, stylish, on the nail performance, she did really well in both the softer lower register and then belting out the big notes. Incomprehensible that she was in the bottom 3.

Brooke White -- very likeable but she has a limited range and intimate style that is being over-exposed on this big stage. She is talented but increasingly I think she is on the wrong show, she's a bit quirky and too sophisticated for AI and the wrong sort of act to survice a knockout competition.

Michael Johns -- best of the night for me, he has a fantastic voice, he articulates every word so you know what he is singing about, great stage presence. I couldn't stand him a few weeks ago, so he has really turned it round for me.

Carly Smithson -- she's my favourite usually but she suffered following a sensational performance from Michael. She oversang a bit but she's still the best of the girls by a mile as far as I'm concerned, she has the most unique sounding voice.

David Archuleta -- increasingly I find him irritating with his smiley-smiley routine, he reminds me of the programmed-to-please child-robot on the other AI - Artificial Intelligence, the Spielberg movie. I think he suffers from professional child performer turned adolescent syndrome. His voice is OK but it has no gear change in the upper register and it doesn't thrill like Michael's or the other David's.

Kristy Lee Cook -- a pleasant singer if permanently off key and a great looker and dresser, saved herself by wrapping herself in the flag. Next week she'll come skipping out dressed as the Statue of Liberty singing Glory glory hallelujah. She'll have to, to stay in.

David Cook -- gave the impression this amazing version of Billie Jean was his own arrangement which it isn't but what a stunning end to the show, he could have a huge hit with that tomorrow. Had he better looks and a modicum of bashfulness he would win. Just wish he would make the words clearer.

I would agree that her song choice did get her some votes from a demographic that is overly patriotic, but probably also got some from those who like to vote for the worst contestant, and those who admired her strategy in picking the song. I still don't think the majority of Americans are any more susceptible to that type of blatant manipulation than most other countries. Some are of course, but I could say the same for the UK based on some of the BB winners. In the end, there's no way KLC will win this show even if she sings the Star Spangled Banner every week until the end.

The winner will probably be either David C or David A. Neither of which do it for me, but I've always been the odd duck.

Ramiele Malubay -- Cute factor is wearing a bit thin. Okay, but not great. May go next week unless she does something sensational.

Chikezie Eze -- Like a throwback to the peak of Motown soul, but simply will not listen to advice. If he'd chosen a better song, and shown personality, he'd still be in the show.

Jason Castro -- Busker made good. Getting by on his unusual look, and because he reminds teenage America of itself. Hopeless singer. Could go next week.

Syesha Mercado -- Very good singer. Suffered by comparison with Gladys Knight. Needs to choose a soul song she can do with originality. Perhaps Drift Away by Dobie Gray?

Brooke White -- Squeaky, squeaky clean. Carly Simon lite. Safe for now.

Michael Johns -- Hmm. Sang well, but could've picked from thousands of songs that would've allowed him to do his own version.

Carly Smithson -- Getting weaker. Needs to revive an old rock song that she can renergise, perhaps Dreams by Grace Slick.

David Archuleta -- The Chosen One.... except that he's beginning to irritate the audience, with his perma smile, pop-poppet look, and dodgy choice of song.

Kristy Lee Cook -- Very smart to wrap herself in the flag. But it's a trick she can't pull twice. Actually sounding better than before, though.

David Cook -- Smug. Very good voice. Smart choice of song and easily the best performer on the night. Is it time for a soft rocker to win AI?

Agree with this

Not hopeless singer, lazy singer. He is able to do well, as shown with Halellujah, but he himself admits that he does practice enough. Being in the bottom three will give him the kick he needed, and hopefully, he'll be back next week. Very nice, smooth voice.

I don't get Syesha. She can sing but I don't enjoy her high pitched voice and her singing style.

Love her lower pitched voice. Not as technically as good singer as Syesha, but has the whole package. Nice tone, connects well with the song.

Agree but I am sot so sure that she is getting weaker. She has not done an outstanding performance yet, but I think that she is capable of it.

Yes, annoying but I don't think that he is irritating the audience unfortunately. He still gets the same amount of screams. He is likeable as a person but I don't like the preaching style of his singing.

Yes about the bold, but smug? I can't see where this comes from. He is only performing and giving 100% to it.. to an awesome result
As much as I would love him to win, I don't see it happening because he doesn't fit the winner's profile: not main stream enough, too much personality. I just hope that he can do well out of the show.
The ones that fit the profile are DA, Brooke and Kristy. Brooke isn't vocally strong enough. Kristy could be a surprise dark horse but I doubt it, DA is the perfect winner. He only needs a very good performance towards the end of the show and he will win over teens, mothers and grand-mothers equally.

I got the impression that Chikezie was reluctant to choose a ballad but was persuaded to do so by his vocal coach - turns out he was right to worry. I don't buy that they are given free choice to pick whatever song they want and I feel he was set up to go - the judges comments were unfair and for me he was vocally far and away the most talented person on the show - gutted he has gone!

Brooke White - I like her, but I don't feel like she does anything THAT amazing really. This weeks song asn't as good as she normally is, but I hope she stays for a few more eeks, even if she's not brilliant she's still good at what she does.

Carly Smithson - I have a feeling she'd be breath taking if she found her song, but she still hasn't, which makes me wonder whether there is any song that would really suit her. This week was a huge improvement over her other weeks though.

Chikezie Eze - He's got a lovely, smooth voice, but he isn't all that gripping to watch, and rather forgettable. I didn't feel he deserved to go tonight though, definately not the worst performance of the night.

David Archuleta - When he's good, this boy is fantastic (Imagine for exapmle) but he seems to be having more and more difficulty in finding good songs, and it's getting boring. He has such a good voice that he can pull off awful songs like tonight, but I'm losing interest in him (and he used to be my favourite!)

David Cook - I thought his performance was breath - taking. I know that many people have complained about it not being his own original arrangement, but I fail to see what's that got to do with anything, and could listen to his Billie Jean over and over again without growing tired. He's definatley my favourite to win!!

Jason Castro - I really like him, but his last few performances have not been memorable and it's starting to seem that he's a bit of a one trick pony. Didn't think his performance was as bad as Simon made out though.

Kristy Lee Cook - Urgh. Nuff said.

Michael Johns - I love the sound of his voice, but I'm not too crazy about him. He reminds me a bit of David Cook, but doesn't have that extra factor about him to make him especially memorable.

Smug, because whenever someone on the judging panel offers praise, there's a little look that says, "I, know, ain't I great." America likes its stars to at least pretend to be humble, at this stage.

Perhaps, this year, noting the success of Daughtry, the profile has changed?

There is a strong element of damned if you do and damned if you don't. Singers choose a slow song, they're told it's boring, singers choose a fast song, they're told to try something different, or show their tender side.

I do believe they're choosing their own songs, 'cause if they weren't the choices would be a lot better. So far, only David Cook has made very smart song choices, consistently. If the songs were being picked for them, no way would David A have got to sing The Voice.

I agree almost entirely with these comments, apart from Carly Smithson, who I just can't bear! I have no logical reason for this, maybe it's the tatoos, I still haven't forgiven my son for getting one! My other son says Carly looks like a cat vomiting when she sings!
