I used to think Steph was 'mostly harmless' but I have changed my view considerably since the whole Ray-gate affair. That was just so manipulative - that I'm afraid I have to admire her style! (still don't like her much though)
It makes you wonder whether this is just the first time that her scheming has been quite so blatant - perhaps she is the one who really has been in control of the game all the way through, and the dumb Brummie who we've all grown to hate, who needs Cameron to explain the meaning of difficult words to her is just a cunning cover.
What is interesting is that at some point Ray realised that he'd been manipulated - I'm not sure who or what made him see this... any ideas? ”
I think the point at which Ray realised this,..was a revealation of how flaky Steph's principles are,..when she got personal with him.
Steph started this attention rubbish when Jon was asked who he would have taken into the reward room,.Jon answered,.."Nush,..obviously".
Steph, from how it looked to me, took this personally. It appeared that Steph thought this was about her being unattractive, when the truth is that Jon simply likes Nush(nothing to do with Steph).
Shows how self absorbed Steph is to put the attention on herself.
Then later when Steph was crying to Ray about it,..she told Ray that she felt rubbish because all the attention is on Nush,..this was her interpretation, nobody elses. So Ray feeling sorry for her, gave her a friendly ear and tried to prove that he had consideration for her.
So Steph was apparently upset because nobody considers her feelings, and always give Nush more attention, and consider Nush first.
So that night while they were drinking,..when Steph says who she would have picked to go in the reward room if she had won the task,...she said Scott, obviously,..making it clear to ray that all the girls like Scott.
This is a direct reflection of the earlier incident, when Jon said his obvious choice would have been Nush.
So Ray, as well as feeling insulted, realises that Steph only finds certain principles important when they concern herself.
She is putting Ray in the exact same position that she herself was in,...proving that her belief system is a load of crap,..and is only relevant when
her own feelings are hurt. As far as I was concerned she hurt her won feelings due to her self centred petulance.
She had no consideration for Ray's feelings,...while she accused everyone of not considering her own,....simple case of double standards.
To me it looked like either pure jealosy,...or complete ignorance and lack of consideration for others.
Obviously Ray is suddenly aware of Steph's selfish double standards,...and it's coupled with the hurt of the direct insult,..and the knowledge that Ray gave Steph a listening ear, but then treats him like muck and stabs him in the back.
But Steph is forgiven, because she's nice, she's cute,...and she's got a luvloi smile.
Thi is what happens when we wait for these quiet ones to slowly reveal themselves,..and we wait for these so-called hidden depths.
Being quiet for the first couple of weeks neither proves that you are worthy, or not worthy of being carried by the public.
This year we gave these quiet boring ones a chance, and look what we've been left with.
For all his faults, at least Ray shows many real emotions, good and bad, and is more representive of how a person behaves normally.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not that keen on Ray,....but at least he's got spunk.
