You will be paying VAT, but your network have included & calculated that into the total figure you pay each month. Have a look at your bill and you should see the VAT figure there. 3 are obviously not including it in their quoted figures to make their contracts appear cheaper than other networks.

yup.

when i was on a 12 month contract with O2 before i went onto a contract with three, my quoted figure always stayed the same during the 12 months, and the figure i was told in store was the figure i paid.

the figure i pay three is nowhere CLOSE to what i was told it would be. its steadily increased.

i have kept every single bill over the last 17 months, and my bill with three hasnt been consistant, it has went up from in the 40 mark when i was in my first few months, to over 60 now once the vat is added on. and i never go over my minutes, ever, and even the woman on the phone who was trying to get me to stay when i rang up to put in my request for an end to my contract said that i dont even use half my allocated minutes etc. i cant find a copy of my contract though, so i need to find that and re-read that before i contact three again about my bills. i want to double check what ive paid is what i am meant to have paid.

I've just moved from O2 to 3 and so far am very pleased with the service. Great signal and reception, HSDPA nearly everywhere I am and very good tarrifs to boot.

With regards to VAT for Personal accounts it will be calculated into your total price when you take out your contract for example the Dolphin 25 on Orange is £25 Including VAT so it's not a hidden charge.

The only reason a tarrif would be quoted VAT Exclusive is for Businesses as obviously Limited Companies can claim their VAT back therefore it isn't an issue for them.

It's not a hidden charge ever though as it is the law, and it has to be paid no ifs no buts.

Do you see PAYE Tax deductions as hidden charges on your salary?

I dont see them as hidden charges but I do see the money as something I could be buying - bigger HD tele, new laptop etc. This is the way I depress myself each month.

For instance this month with the money I gave to the taxman I could have had 2 weeks sunning myself somewhere nice.

i was totally mis-led in my opinion. my total price i agreed was in the 40's mark per month, and my total price hasnt been in the 40's mark for months and months and months, my price plan wasnt inclusive of vat because my vat is added on top of what i agreed to pay. which is why i need to find my contract i signed and re-read it to make sure im paying what im meant to be.

i cant wait till the 15th when it ends, im going to pay as you go, no 17.5% monthly charges with PAYG and you only buy what you need not what you could use. and no hassle, i cant wait

I rang 3 earlier inquiring about an upgrade, they were going to give me a Nokia 6500 slide and keep me on the same contract
(250 mins 450 texts, 35 quid a month), I told them that there was a far better contract and better phone i could get at the Carphone Warehouse, didn't take long for the man to change his tune! He offered me the same phone with unlimited texts and 600 mins, 25 wuid a month.

In so far then I've found 3 to be fine, they don't bother me and on a couple of occasions they've been amiable when I didn't have the money in my account to pay a bill

ive been with 3 for 4 years now had a problem with this contract, but i written in and someone rang me up in the uk,all sorted ,they have best deals by far, also just had my internet from them and thats quicker than the internet through my phoneline, oh as for vat thats on all mobile calls, its just 3 break it down so you can see how much goes to them and how much goes to the goverment, this als includes pay as you go,for every pound you spend 17.5p goes sraight to the government

Really? PAYG must be exempt from VAT then?

In the shop where you bought the phone (unless you were buying a business contract) they would have been required to tell you the price inclusive of VAT (ie with VAT already added on).

You will always pay vat on a phone, its just that its usually included in the price. It sounds to me like you were mis-sold (or simply did not appreciate) the contract that you signed upto. 3 quite often do half price line rental for the first 3 or 6 months and then it reverts back to the normal price, and i think this is why your costs have gone up.

Nothing to do with vat, it is 17.5% and always has been.

seriously, i have had nothing but trouble from three in the coming up to 18 months ive been with them. and i have been a perfect customer, never gotton behind on payments, always pay on time, etc etc.

but they are by far in my experience the worst network to be on with the worst 'customer services' helplines. ive been with vodaphone, O2, Orange in the past and they were fine. 3 is a whole other story.

it took me over 30 mins on the phone to three mobile network to get them to process my request for a cancellation of my contract when it comes to an end next month. because they dont listen to you, it is like talking to a brick wall who ever you talk to. they all yap on about offers and been a valued customer even when you are repeating for the 12th time, nothing will make you renew with them.

it took complaining to a manager before the request was processed.

ive made so many complaints and talked to managers so many times when ive had problems with them. they are all useless and dont LISTEN, and they are all pushy as hell. and the VAT they charge is CRAZY.

ive also had friends who've had huge problems with them.

seriously worst network ever.”

Yep i had a pretty similar experience with them, straight back to o2 and never been happier!!

Had to threaten them with court to stop them taking money from me after I'd left them too, awful awful company.
