Why do they always have the cocky Asian man who has a back for one-liners?

I was thinking the same thing about Raef too, I have to admit, I crowed with laughter at his "I am friends with prince and pauper." line and Alex's subsequent face.

And Syed was the new Paul, btw

Raef has probably watched previous series of The Apprentice and has adopted many of Tre's, Syed's and even Paul's traits. The 'lovable though irritating posh rogue'

Tre
Sayid
Paul

My favourites from the past three series.

I don't think Syed was posh in the way the likes of Nicholas is, but he would have considered himself high class because of his status in the business world.

What!!! Syed posh?? Er no. Cocky and arrogant definately, but not posh. He would probably class himself as an "executive" but he wasn't posh in the way Nicholas, Katie or Paul were ...

As for Raef, I find him plainly irritating and do not believe for one second that she actually wants to work for Amstrad or Sir Alan. He wants to cultivate a TV image and gather the fans that loved Syed, Tre etc. I found him repulsive though.

Utterly insane comment, there was nothing posh about Tre and Syed, they were unprincipled barrow boys with no class whatsoever.

Raef does have some class.

Crikey Vivid, I've no idea what an unprincipled barrow boy is. How insane of me not to know that eh!! I'm entitled to my views and comments as much as the next person and just because we do not share the same views etc does not qualify mine as insane.

Raef is your standard yearly "keep him in for the entertainment value" candidate.** He will NEVER win.... they will make use of him and a few weeks before the end chuck him out.** Every year the same thing...... its become standard formula at this stage.

Difference is, Tre was mostly right and deserved to win. Reaeaaeaaef is just an a**e.

Raef doesn't have any of the likability of Tre Paul or Syed. They were also annoying and kept in for entertainment, but none of them seemed as nasty as Raef.

I found Raef to be lacking in any redeeming niceties, but it is only week one.
Tre on the other hand for all his headstrongness was actually very bright and alot of the time just frustrated when the others were messing up. I never saw any REAL nastiness in Tre.

Oh well Raef will stay in for several weeks now as I suspect he'll make good TV and the producers won't want to lose him. It wil be fun watching him fall flat on his face eventually though.

Just because Raef comes from an exotic background as Tre ( or Sayed or even Paul) doesn't mean he's anything like Tre at all....in fact that's where the comparison ends.

Whereas Tre is creative & more entrepreneurial & just gets on with it type of guy, Raef is just an egotist & trying too hard playing for the camera...well I guess he's used to it having been on Question Time before.

Pls there really is no comparison between these guys. But if I have to compare anyone it would be Tre is probably more similar to Paul in terms of business acumen.

I couldn't agree more.

As per usual he will probably be dispatched once we get down to the last 4 or 5.

I didn't mind Tre, couldn't stand Sayed and can't stand Raef and Nicholas, I hate the kind of people they represent (snobs!) I was half expecting them to burst into a chorus of "We're going to squash the oiks! Rah! Rah! Rah!!" (For those of you under 30 that's from 'The Young Ones' University Challenge episode!)
