Hi just to let you know v21 of n95 firmware is out.
Its only available at the moment on generic n95's although a simple change off product code will enable you to update using nokia software updater.

Main feature is the inclusion of flash lite 3 into the browser meaning flash content is usable, and gives the n95's browser one over iphones safari.

For full details of changes check out this link.

or the nokia website

Have given it a swirl nice and smooth no bugs founbd yet!

98% similar to what the N95 8gig is already using.

Full instructions here:

The download link in that post for Nemesis didn't seem to work for me, so I went via B-Phreaks:

http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/index.php...767b904280f9ad

For the generic product code, I used:

0536062 - Euro1 - Plum

And then after the update, I changed it back to my T-Mobile product code.

Word of warning:

Unbranding & flashing with generic firmware may void the warranty / insurance.

if i unbrand by changing the product code, and then upgrade to latest firmware, does that mean the phone will then be sim unlocked from orange?

No the network lock is programmed into the phone, to overcome that you need the unlock code or get someone to do it for you via a cable. The N Series is quite costly to unlocky via a phone shop, networks usually charge around 20 quid for the code.

ok cool. one more question. i think i read somewhere that if i change the product code and update the firmware, that i lose my contacts?

If this is true, can i backup the contacts in the nokia software before i change the product code, and then just copy them all back across afterwards?

Also if i change the product code and update the firmware, will i lose all my orange specific data (ie internet and mms settings) and if so where would i find out what the settings need to be to put them back in?

Soory a bit of a ramble i know!

Yes your contacts will be lost, but as long as you use the nokia pc suite to backup your contacts first then you can just copy them back across, as for internet and mms settings my n95 must have taken them from the sim automatically otherwise you can run the setup wizard or they are also available from the orange website.
Hope this helps!
You will notice a big difference between the latest orange firmware and v21
