What company does Camoron work for? I understand he may have a couple of fish farms himself, but .. he is just talking about a visit to a Tokyo fish market

What general worker is sent to Tokyo from Scotland on a day to day nondescript basis?

What trader ... is allowed to start at the office dependant on how many phone calls have been redirected from the office to your home address

Scott asked what would be a funny day - In his response Cameron mentioned along the lines of being called in to help Dutch trader from going bust - something about a suitcase filled with money (or similar - birdsong started again and I missed the finer details because I was typing)

SO WHAT THE HELL IS CAMERON DOING ON THIS ...... CATCH IT ONE HOUR LATER IF YOU CAN / WANT .....

Added: When Cameron talks about trading fish, he is NOT talking about one or two boxes being sent from UK to USA ... but whole tonnes of it ................

I presume it is The Orkney Salmon Company, but he isn't one the five owners, who make up the consortium, so he is probably just employed by them.

I've read somewhere, that the Orkney Panto Dame is an international jet set businessman who works for a significant proportion of the year in New York and Boston.

Not really the highland yokel is he really...?

He used to work for the orkney salmon co, he works for an american co, can't remember the name but it starts with an H.

Did he ever say he was a Highland yokel?

He has on many occasions mentioned the many places abroad he has worked in, either on placements from University or since starting his current employment. It was the anti-Cameron brigade that started implying he was a Shack living Highland Yokel when that suited them, and are now trying to pretend it was Cameron that said these things, so they can expose him as a liar.

The Haliburton Group possibly?? Don't know why that came to mind ... but Cameron talks a lot about Dutch guys - and I used to live in Holland .....

But it seems to me that even a huge group like the H group would not send a NOBODY to Tokyo for conferences, he can go to work whenever he needs to start, sending him to Holland with suitcases full of money etc. etc.

But if Cameron works for them and is doing that kind of operation ... he is something ...

Next we hear of him ... could Camoron be "our man in Um Qsar?"

Nope don't think so ... highlanders are loverly people

if anybody had mentioned highlanders previously, I would gathered the clan and sorted that person out !

Highlanders are good people - perhaps you are confused with 'Islanders' ?

Excuse me??
What's your point other than Cameron is successful fish trader? Why is that a barrier to entering a silly competition?
Fed's father is a millionaire. Alex's family are well off as are Tim's and countless others. Jon earns a packet so what message are you trying to get across?

No he never, however the portrayal of Cameron has been as such in the media. Everyone has been at, look at Graham Norton portraying him as a pseudo psycho type character - in other words the mad bible bashing Orcadian who feels inhibited by women etc etc, and I agree it's wrong for them to do this, but Cameron has probably garnered quite a few votes because of this?

I guess it's another case of our media stereotyping an individual to fit its own story agenda. I know, never thought that would happen in this day and age...

p.s. I'm not a Cam basher or a mad Jon fan, in fact not one of them in that house really and truely deserves that 70 grand. Like the housemates I much prefer to sit on the fence (and save my phone bill!)....

North Landing is the company name sorry not an H.

The point Faequeen, is that Cameron tries and suceeds in promoting the facade that he is an YOKEL from the very far away islands of Orkney. As such, Camoron has no idea of how life is in the bigger world - he pretends to be innocent.

Sorry, but if you cannot differentiate between somebody who is a shark and pretends to be a minnow, then I cannot help you further understand where Comoron is coming from.

Like it or nay Cameron has been portrayed as an Island yokel.
Was this a game plan cooked up between Cam and his equally odious brother?
We'll never know.

Thanks Hammy .... have not done a search on this as yet (its late) ...

Interesting evening though so far - Camoron has told more (or C4 have played less birdsong than usual) but Scott and Ray were both transfixed ... mesmorised even at the events he was recounting ....

So Cameron is at least partly responsible for the dramatic decline in fish stocks seen around the world? Fume! Another reason not to vote for him.

The export studies graduate speaks fluent French and Spanish, Japanese and Norwegian. After graduating from Napier University in Edinburgh in 1992, he lived in Lyons, France, for a year, working as an assistant curator in an art gallery.

He then moved to Seville, Spain, where he taught English to children. In 1995 he moved back to Orkney and took up a job at Orkney Salmon, before moving to his current job buying and selling fish for the company North Landing, which sees him split his time between Orkney and the United States of America.

I don't need or want your kind of help thank you.
No-one has portrayed Cameron as anything other than what he is. It is the mindless morons who haven't bothered to check his bio who are the ones at fault. Suddenly they glean titbits of information and are shocked to learn that who they assumed a HM to be is totally wrong.

The fact that a man speaks 4 languages fluently might have given you a clue. Another was his tales to Gos of his 6 months living in America. Another was his university education. Another was the fact that his brother is a Bafta Award Winner - heck just because you were clueless doesn't make the man himself at fault.

And incidentally the term is 'country yokel or bumpkin - not island yokel. Here's another clue - we ALL live on an island - though at times I wish it wasn't the same one.

and yet in a recent article for The Scotsman, his brother Julyan refers to his brother's reactions to the other HM's as "naive".
The "innocent abroad " image is not just down to Graham Norton. You have to start looking a little closer to home.....

I would agree with his brother. Cameron does come across as naive and quite innocent compared to his contemporaries.

Ah but, for such an educated linguist, why then sound and act like a teuchter charater from Bothy Nichts.

An accent is hard to loose, but the dialect would have been surpressed by his International dealings by now IMHO.

Oh shit did i say Bothy Nichts, now that's giving my age away.

Taking it all too seriously? You err if you think I have not understood what Cameron is or what he has done previously - but until this evening, no precise details had been forthcoming or had been made clear by Camoron himself.

Everyone on this planet lives on an island - its how that island is portrayed that is the difference.

I really don't care who wins BB4 - as long as its not Camoron. He is the only person who has hidden behind a mask of the proportions he has. But then again, we do not all have family who are media savvy.

I agree none of the other HMs have been open - but Camoron has been an expert at hiding what kind of person he is and has not explained or talked about himself, history or lifestyle until this evening - when, for some reason, we were allowed to hear more.

Not necessarily. The Orcadian accent is far more pronounced than dialects in the rest of Scotland - even Inverness as you will know. I doubt whether he will ever lose it. I've travelled the world all my life and have had to perfect my diction to suit - but still I retain my Scottish accent.

Bothy Nichts - these were the days!

No I'm not taking it too seriously at all - like so many others I've lost interest in the programme but it offends me to have posters come up with this rubbish about fellow Scots when I know it is blatantly untrue.

You cannot watch very much of E4 or you would have heard Cameron tell many tales over the past few weeks - especially to Gos and Steph. So there is no mystery or secret - just because you failed to tune in at the right time. His stories of America were enthralling and Gos kept urging him on for more details.
His tales of Spain and France were equally entertaining.
He often talks about his job too - so really your original post was quite ludicrous.

I still don't get the 'WHAT IS HE DOING HERE' remark???

It's not that unusual to be astute in business but still to be socially naive.

Your post is getting extremely personal and therefore bordering on whether I should respond or not.

1) Your comment about fellow Scots is rubbish. I am 100% Scot - like it or not. I may not currently abide in Scotland - but that is nothing to do with BB nor has anything to do with my responses.

2) You have no idea how much E4 I do or do not watch - I will respond to you privately if you really need to know this information.

3) I have heard the housemates talk since day 1 - but they have not said much. Even today I think if you asked the HMs about how much they really know and understand about the day-to-day activites of each other, they would be non-plussed and have no idea.

If you wish to obtain further, personal information about me or my viewing activities, I suggest you contact me privately.
