Why is it that so many reviews say things like...

Quote:
“Before we get stuck into its internal talents, it's worth noting that the PVR-9200T is not, and never has been, a work of art on the outside. Its boxy design and all-black finish is the epitome of bland, and not even the silver version can inject much excitement.”

Personally, I feel that it has a very understated elegance to it - what DO these people want to see?

The comments on the styling of the box are just about the only negative remarks. I've rarely seen such a positive review:

“The Humax PVR-9200T cements its reputation as the king of PVRs ...if you're in the market for a PVR this really is a no-brainer.”

Yes, and accurate. As for the styling I agree with Ajj, I hate the modern trend of making some AV items look like the control consol of some futuristic space ship.

It's completely pointless even to mention the looks of an appliance as it's purely a matter of taste and easily assessed by the prospective purchaser on looking at the item of a picture of it.

It's just reviewers filling in space.

They describe the appearance of the outside for the benefit of blind people
