This format should be scrapped now as they know its been axed. I couldn't keep interest in Saturdays episode at all, and ended up going on my computer and left it on in the background for the last half an hour.

We learnt on Saturdays episode that Max and Jacqui have moved to their new house. Why did we not see them move? As far as I know, we wern't even told they had moved until this episode because we hadn't seen them for weeks and weeks. So should we take it that Max has left Brookside now and Jacqui will just come back every 6 weeks or so to check the mail at the old house?

We havn't seen the Gordans for a few weeks now, since their mum died. Next time we see them, they'll probably have forgoten all about it and we can look forward to another 90 minutes of screaming and arguing.

This format needs scrapping, non of the episodes are linked anymore, you can miss a few weeks and feel like you've not missed anything.

Also, it looks like the Parade has gone, we havn't seen that for months and its now been removed from the locations page of brookside.com, so its just the close left now - which will be a pile of rubble come November

PS. Does anyone know the real name of Brookside Close? I've looked on those streep map sites but theres no Brookside Close in Liverpool apparantly.

Since Brookie moved to Saturdays we had totally lost track of it. Shame really cos we used to really enjoy it during the week.

The bits I have caught recently on a Saturday, don't stir the emotions at all. What a pity it's gone so down hill it's like they're not even trying anymore. Everything is so cold and looks so cheap.

Well, to tell you the truth, i havn't actually sat down to watch the Saturday episodes for about six weeks now. I am usually busy on Saturdays. I am looking forward to the move to Tuesday evening's as that will be a better time for me. I have kept up with what's going on on the close by soap updates though

Anyway, Chris, from your desciption in the top post, it sounds like Brookie has gone down the same path as NandD - each episode independant of whether you saw the last or not, and the odd reference to a past storyline every now and again.

I hope they sort this out in the next month or so, and give Brookie the proper send-off it deserves.

I have been watching Brookside recently and I honestly don't think the writers are making an effort at all. It is as though they have given up on the characters and the locations and concentrating on fitting in as much drama and action as they can get into a 90 minute slot (3 episodes per week).
Brookside has definatley lost it's realism completely and is very far fetched at the moment.
As for the last episode, I think what would make a great ending is for the parade to be extended into the Close, at least that would be a believable way to end the soap once and for all but would also leave the door open for a return to Channel 5 perhaps because the parade would still be there.

That awful "filmic" look stops me watching it for more than 5 seconds.

The Parade is probably already being turned into part of the Hollyoaks or Grange Hill set now. (The other side of the Parade is the Hollyoaks shops!)

We havn't seen it since the 24th of May (I think) and it never gets mentioned anymore.
