Cameron's winnings - what to spend it on?
Purnah
21-07-2003
Cameron's mum reckons he might like to get himself an Aston Martin with his winnings.

But that could be construed as an unChristian thing to do with such a large wad of cash. I don't think that Christians shouldn't enjoy the benefits of wealth.

However, I would expect a zealous and very committed one to tithe - I do ... not 10% but more than 5%.

I suppose I would expect Cameron to something useful with it - he seems to be in a comfortable material circumstance already. He should know that having worldly goods won't make him a happier person.

Craig gave all of his away and furthermore ... he didn't tell anybody that that was his intention beforehand.

Christians think that God expects them to be 'happy and generous givers' but not openly and showy to provoke praise. They also believe that one is expected to give according to what one has - the theory being that God has given you everything anyway, and so nothing is really yours to own exclusively. If you give freely you are also acknowledging that God has given to you first.
