ipod-editing track info for multi-disc albums.

Ok,here's my poser.

I got the Vince Gill box set 'These Days'. This is a four disc set,'These days' is the overall title but each disc has an individual title. When you copy it it appears on the ipod as four seperate albums,These Days-disc1,disc 2 and so on. I know I could edit the info and change the titles to the individual disc titles but it would still appear as four seperate entries. Ideally what I'd like is,clicking on Vince Gill in the list of artists will show 'These Days' as one entry, then clicking on that title will show the four individual disc titles, from where you can select one which then lists the individual tracks for that disc, etc.

Hope I'm not being too confusing! Can it be done?

Don't think so.

You get artist, track, album artist and album name in the ID3 info from what I remeber. You'd need an extra layer of album name tagging to do what you want I think ..... I can't think of any other way you could do it.

I think having each disc labelled separately (as it has done) is as good as it's going to get I'm afraid.

Not without reprogramming iTunes and iPods.

I've got a couple 2 discers and on 6 disc set as one "album" by just renaming the album title for all tracks.
