That's the best reason for buying it. Don't like the built in interface? Try MyStuff. Don't like MyStuff? Try iGuide, EPG Navigator, Jag's EPG, 3PG etc. The only problem is there's too many of the little devils out there

If you don't like adverts, be sure to check out QuickJump too

Oh yes, another favourite is the Display TAP, makes the LED display on the front of the box show much more useful information.

Several people mentioned the delay that MyStuff EPG loading adds to boot time, but I didn't see anyone mention that this can be optionally disabled at boot, so that MS starts up quickly, and then reads its EPG in the background.

I spent a lot of time researching dual-tuner HDRs before buying my Toppy, and it came down to either that, or the Humax. Whilst arguably it (Toppy) is a machine for tinkerers, the upside is that, with TAPs, it has more functionality than any other device out there. If you cannot get it configured to do exactly what you want, then your wants are very unusual.

That cannot be said for any of the other devices out there, I believe.

Funny the very first TAP I installed (experimental purposes) but will keep was Quick Jump...Very Impressed

Also tried MyStuff, think I need to read up more about this as not quite sure what I should be getting

VERY early days, especially as I have not completely worked out what it has standard, but the things I want (if they are not part of the standard set up) are

1 Quick Jump
2 Resume Play Next Day (think that is part of standard)
3 Recording buffer 1 minute early start, 3 minute end on all programs set to record.
4 Easy switch between watching a recording and going to live TV and vice versa
5 To be able to clearly see what is actually being recorded whilst I am using the Toppy (ie not in standby).
6 PIP whilst watching a recording (need to see when a program on live TV is about to start)
7 Reliable Series Record (still on latest software) have not changed it YET

No doubt a few others, but no doubt I will be looking/asking soon

I got the 5800, but I like the digifusion. yeah it's noisy when next to the topfield. it's not as economical to run. it doesnt have a huge fan base with customisable bits, but....

it's usable as soon as the power button is pressed.
it has 2 pause buffers
epg keeps the data
switches channels quickly
it doesnt broadcast when set to record something

Let's however say, in the interests of fairness and in the original spirit of the thread that I LOVE how the box deals with recording/displaying 3 sources at once. The simple manner in which the channels just disappear from being selectable is very elegant and so far it does not seem to have caused a problem with any recording or viewing. I think the older digifusions apparently did this but i have not seen it done so well before.

I am sort of growing to live with the sluggishness but am waiting with baited breath for firmware update and the ability to use mystuff properly and see how far that improves the box.
