Gin, Gin, Gin.
I like Gin a fair bit, enough to dislike Gordons and love Tanquerry 10, Hendrick and Blackwoods.
Can anyone recomend other gins to me? |

I'm quite partial to the odd Bombay Sapphire myself.

Xoriguer Gin from either Majorca or Menorca,(can't remember which?), is very fruity, a little sweeter than usual instead of bone dry and very, very quaffable.

I always used to get Gordons until they reduced the strength but not the price. Then moved onto Bombay Sapphire until I discovered Plymouth.

I'm not a fan unless it is sloe gin. In fact I have a bottle of my mum's to hand so I think I'll have a glass.
![]() I've still got a freezer drawer full of sloes to make next years batch too. |

For yars, I've been drinking Bombay Sapphire, have always really liked it.
Last year, someone bought me a bottle of Millers Gin. I think it's far nicer, more 'fragrant' somehow and it's converted me! Saying that, my local Sainsburys doesn't stock it, although I did notice it in my local off licence near work so I have a supplier ready for when the bottle runs out! (by the way, it was bought for me last year, but I put off drinking it until this year because I didn't think it would taste so good - in fact, I only opened it because my Bombay had run out!) What's everyone's best way to drink gin? Mine is in a tall glass, with lots and lot and lots of ice, a third gin, two thirds (slimline) tonic and a slice of lime. Mmmm..... |

Tanqueray and Beefeater for me. I got a bottle of the Gordons export gin with the yellow label, 'imported from England' still 40% proof and it's very dry but nice with tonic.

I've no idea on what gin to suggest as hubby has banned me from it saying that I become very aggressive and arrogant when I drink it?
I'm okay with sloe gin though.

An excellent book about the history of Gin - 'The Much-Lamented Death of Madam Geneva' - Patrick Dillon. Perfect partner to a few Tanqs.

Interesting fact
Gin in Spanish is 'ginebra', the same word they use for Geneva.
Well, it's not that interesting actually. Anyway, now you know! |

I like Bombay Sapphire and Hendrick's. Not four months ago I was sitting by the pool at the Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur, admiring the view of the city and sipping ice cold G&Ts. Ah that was was life. |

Tanqueray No.10 is my favourite but you don't see it often where I live so I make do with Bombay Sapphire. I like Hendricks, they say it is an acquired taste, I acquired the taste very quickly!
