An often overlooked and under appreciated meal! what do you guys like to start the day with? i'm a fan of muesli, or lovely oaty/sultana cereals. i'm not adverse to the odd full english either!

I'm the same, but it changes throughout the year. I like Oatsosimple and Weetabix when it's colder, sometimes with a 'cereal topper' from the health food shop, but now I'm back to cereals with cold milk. I've got Crunchy Nut Clusters at the moment, the one with chocolate curls. I like a cooked breakfast but very rarely have them...I have an office job so it would be a bit heavy and I couldn't burn it off!

I usually don't have anything except tea, or peppermint tea, in the mornings on work days, although sometimes I have toast. At weekends, when I'm not dashing around, I sometimes have pancakes (yum!) or scrambled eggs. I can never eat for at least an hour, preferably two, after waking up, so nice long leisurely weekend breakfasts are nice.

2 hard boiled eggs beat up in a cup with a HUGE dollop of butter and some salt with toast on the side hits the spot, failing that an Ulster Fry really sets you up for the day.

we did try the oatibix, but they soaked up gallooooons of milk and still turned to cement in the dish, GAG. Porridge with maple syrup is rather nice, as are those dorset cereals, the ones with no dust, lol.

Me too. I don't usually understand breakfast as
a) it's too early in the morning when I'm not hungry
b) I don't like breakfast food - if cereal, mussel etc is so nice why don't people eat it at any other time?

I can just about manage a slice of toast but anything else seems too much hassle and wastes time I'd rather be spending in bed

The one exception is when I'm really hungover - then a proper fry-up works a treat. The best breakfast i have ever had was in New York where I had corned beef hash + 2 fried eggs in a corner deli washed down by lots of coffee.

Warm croissants and cream cheese, with plenty of black coffee. Only get time at the weekends though.

I'm also a person that doesnt usually eat breakfast. Just a couple of cups of fresh coffee, only when I'm away on holiday I will eat breakfast, although the old saying goes. Breakfast like a king, lunch like a lord and dinner like a pauper.
Since being diagnosed though with Diabetes I have to have something so I will force a banana down.

i do! cereal is a perfect snack.

I cant survive without a huge breakfast everyday!

A bowl of homemade muesli,
a yogurt
3 portions of fruit
and big glass of water,

i alternate the fruit and yogurt with a fruit smoothie. That i make with fruits (normally frozen berries) no fat natural yoghurt and a bit of honey.

although at the moment i love banana, yoghurt and peanut butter!

if im still hungry i sometimes have toast or a cream cheese bagel.
yum yum!!!!

at weekends its normally more luxurious, scrambled eggs and english muffins, boiled eggs, danish pastries, croissants, occasionally a full fry up.

My favourite cereal at the moment is Special K Bliss Creamy Berry Crunch.

At the weekend I usually have something other than cereal ~ eg bagel with bacon and cream cheese, roll n sausage (low fat sausages these days), scrambled eggs and toast.

Someone above mentioned boiled eggs mashed in a cup with butter. I've not had that for years! I may have it tomorrow!

anything to avoid cereal...Its the last thing I really want to eat in the morning, sometimes I'll just have a banana instead of it. Usually beans on toast, poached/scrambled eggs

What do you mean if you are still hungry? I think that would be me for the day if I could stomach that lot!

I never used to be able to stomach breakfast, but these days I have to eat it. At the moment, I really love Rice Krispies with milk and sugar, and a glass of orange juice, so that's my breakfast every weekday morning. On a weekend, I usually have beans on toast, or peanut butter on toast. Occasionally have sausage, baked beans, bacon and toast, which is by far my favourite; not too good for me though!

I never ate breakfast as a child, but love it now.

During the week I have Bran Flakes (must be Kelloggs - own brand ones are vile) or porridge with a cup of tea, weekends my favourite breakfast is toasted muffins with scrambled egg.

Can't beat a full English as a hangover cure!

Really, i guess most people would! but i love my food! i also love exercise and its all reasonably healthy stuff.

i'm not fat by the way! am 5 foot tall and my weight is pretty much in proportion. But i exercise for 2 hours a day, if i don't all i have to do is look at food and put on a dress size!

also breakfast is my favourite and biggest meal.

I have to have breakfast in the morning, can't function otherwise! I like to have some toast with lots of butter and maybe some Bran Flakes. On the weekend I like to do a full fry up and sometimes I like to warm up some croissants and chop up loads of fresh fruit. The kids love that, had it this morning actually!

A sachet of resolve. If I feel like I can eat without throwing up after, a bacon and mushroom cob, three cups of espresso and a fag.
