Changed veg box supplier
Our veg box supplier has been very good and friendly, but their website is always work in progress, as in its very buggy and stuff. So we've ended up having to ring to order every week or two. When we first set it up, Abel&Cole didn't do our area so we didn't use them. But they've just put a leaflet through our door, so decided to sign up.
Their website is so much better, and it actually works. So our driver Mark is apparently dropping off our first box on wednesday ![]() Another difference is that before we didn't know what was coming in each box, now i can see on the site. |

We've been using Abel and Cole for about 2 months now. You can enter holidays into the system so they automaticly cancel your order that week, and also put in foods you dislike so they replace it with something else.
At this time of the year there seems to be a lot of root veg, but we've also had things we've never considered before like Kol Rabi, which was a delightful surprise. |

Years ago we used Abel and Cole, and ordered a sack of potatoes; the delivery bloke said they couldn't get organic, and would bog standard spuds do. To be fair, I think they'd only just set up, but I was disappointed.
More recently we ordered from Riverford, and I was very happy with them, but we've since moved and they don't cover this area. It was lovely getting a lucky dip of veg, and I tried new veg I hadn't had before; it made me a bit more adventurous with cooking. |

I've been having a veg box delivery from Abel & Cole for 3yrs or more now, and I've never been disappointed in anything. They do on rare occasions send you the odd item of fruit or veg that is 'in transition' ie. not yet fully organic, but you do have the option of refusing it if you'd prefer.
Their customer service is excellent and I highly recommend them to anyone thinking of trying a veg box delivery. |

I'm a RiverNene customer - very happy with their service on the whole - just get a bit stuck with ideas for what to do with the abundance of curly kale that we tend to get in the winter !!
I started off with Abel and Cole about 2 years ago, but I thought their selection wasn't that brilliant |

Abel and Cole costs a bl@@dy fortune! Far better to find a local scheme or go to the local farm shop.
£30 a week.. You must be havin a laugh! Riverford charge under 15.00 for a huge box, or small ones start at under a tenner. |

http://www.abelandcole.co.uk/Shop.aspx?menu1=1&menu2=1 ) starts at 22 quid.. The leaflet that came through our door the other week was for closer to 30.. so not sure what was added on top of the 22 quid box.We did have flights (around 12 quid).. But use the farm shop these days instead. |
