It's so nice wouldn't you agree?

Especially the mayonaise, puren gorgeous. Mmmm I could eat nandos chicken burgers for ever.

I'm tempted to ask where they get their chicken from but I suspect their answer may be from a horrible farm with terrible condiitons so I've not asked cos then I'd have to stop going.

I've never eaten in the restaurants but their marinades are delicious.

Yes, you would be right sadly.

I am not a big Nando's fan - the chips taste horrible, and the chicken is cruelly reared - bit of a bummer when the main dishes are chicken and chips.

I lurrrrve Nando's! I normally get half a hot chicken, a mediterranean salad, chips, corn cob and coleslaw. The halloumi cheese starter thing is nice too. Oh, and the 'nata' (custard tart) is also yummy!

Ah, but have you tried the chips with the piri piri seasoning?

I love it; favourite fast food joint ever!

Veggie pitta (extra hot), peri-peri fries and a soft drink, in which I put Coke, Sprite and Fanta in to create a lovely two-tone effect drink!

I wish, wish, wish you could buy the peri-peri spice in shops though. It's so nice!

Oh so is the veggie pitta nice? U tried the bean burger?

I was tempted to go for the veggie burger today or the bean burger but I love my food and am really disappointed if I don't like it so I just stuck to the chicken which I knew I liked - safe bet.

Erm.... by 'the spice' I assyme you mean the sauce? If so, you can! I've certainly bough it in Tesco and Sainsburys and sure I've seen it in Waitrose. In fact, looking at Tesco online now I can see Nando Peri Ketchup, Extra Hot Peri Peri Sauce, Peri Peri BBQ sauce.. actually, why am I listing them... get shopping and see for yourself!!! I like frying up some chicken, potato wedges and red and green peppers covered in the Extra Hot sauce, only problem is the vapours get into my eyes and temporarily blind me!

Halloumi cheese is a really tasty Greek (I think?) cheese that can be grilled without melting. They serve it at Nando's with a pitta bread. Try that, and the tart next time you go, I am sure you'll love it!

I beg to differ.

Its overpriced, and the fact that you have to go and order your own food at the till makes it reminisent of a transport cafe.

There are at least two in Glasgow.

I know of one at Springfield Quay, one in Braehead X-Scape and I think there may be one at Silverburn.

Thanks for making this thread, OP. I had forgotten about Nando's til I read this, so I am off to Nando's in Castlepoint (near Bournemouth) in about an hour

I have just checked the online menu, and there is a new halloumi and portabello mushroom burger that I need to try, plus I will be having my first ever EXTRA HOT chicken! They also have a new homemade lemonade, which sounds nice. Can't wait!

That was always the major downside for me. I could never face queueing and then huddling round the busy counter while I chose a meal. That's not restaurant service.

Yeah, I've tried the bean burger, but I prefer the veggie one, plus it's cheaper!

It's not like veggie burgers you'd get at other places with actual veggies in them, it's more meat substitute 'stuff'!

Nope, I work in Sainsbury's, I know you can buy sauces, marinades, mayo, ketchup etc.

I want the spice that they sprinkle all over the fries that makes them peri-peri fries!

If you don't make your fries peri-peri when you go to Nando's, you are missing out!

They show that they have a spice range available on their US website...

http://www.nandos.com/kitchen/spice_range.html

...sure there would be a stockist somewhere in the UK that would have these and help you recreate the great taste of peri-peri fries in the luxury of your own home!

Oh see I#m glad you said that cos I hate pretend meat. I do like bean burgers but they are a bit hit and miss, you never know if it's gonna be nice or not which is why I've always stuck to the chicken...might be brave nxt time and go for bean burger.

Nandos ... never heard of them. Another franchise food place? If so I'll steer clear as I like sustainable food. Tell me if I am wrong.

I had my first ever Nando's a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it. Had the peri-peri chips and I thought they were great. And whoever thought of putting pineapple in a chicken burger, is a bleeding genius!

The fare in Nados is Chav food at it's worst. The fact you have to queue up to be served as well is bizarre.

The supermarket sauces aren't bad though.
