Ignore them, I think Niamh seems like one of the nicest people in the competition!!
even in the clip before the group songs she came across as nice even though she was being competitive unlike *cough* Jessie *cough* who just seemed really arrogant this week |

thought niamh was amazing tonight in candyman! And true colours was also good. Lou, def see where your coming from with jessie she is coming across as up herself. Saying niamh wasnt right for nancy and then being terrible in candyman...haha. I see niamhs best friend in the house (samantha) was one of the only ones not to diss niamh at the start of the show but awk well...
I hate that the lines close before we get to see the mission or the results performances like because we don't get to see who's good at acting and by the time the next week comes round where we can vote again we've forgotten who the best actors were! But niamh fans tomorrow should be a good show to see niamhs talents tomorrow with the Oliver song, the mission which JB said she'd shine in, and that other song...

I might just have to stick to this thread from now onCant wait to see the song and the acting mission tonight, really excited about seeing Niamh in both ![]() I also noticed about Sam, Rachel didnt diss Niamh either (NI support )Skreepers- PM |

I thought Niamh stood out as the best in the group performance. I think she's a lot stronger and tougher than people give her credit for. I can't wait to see the mission that John was raving about!

I might just have to stick to this thread from now onSo what! They are the ones who are losing out as Niamh is very talented and lots of people, including JB and ALW think she will go on from this show to great things! |

Don't let them get you down. A few people have made up their minds that they don't like Niamh and no doubt take pleasure in winding up her fans.

I'm not going back on those threads lol. well I will, but I wont post in Niamh's defence- its too tedious and no matter how many strong arguments I have they are just ruthless. it seems that no matter how strong a performance is its still not good enough for them but I agree with the JB/ALW comment- if they say shes good, shes good ![]() Niamh may not be Nancy, but she will definitely go very far, and I will be supporting her all the way

![]() That is all. Bye now. ![]() ![]() Apparently not tho according to DVO ![]() Niamh's in the paper today- she's still doing her A Levels! ![]() Apparently shes been doing coursework and revision at the side of the stage, and her parents have been sending coursework back and forth from her and the school! ![]() Also- the BBC have provided a live link-up with a moderator so she can do her music practical!! ![]() It's all a bit chaotic for her at the minute, so I think shes doing very well. Apparently she has huge support in a bar in France, posters and everything!

I have even more respect for her, if that's even possible!I've been a bit worried about Niamh these last few weeks, she seemed a bit reserved, maybe she gets quite nervous? But tonight I thought she was right back on form, great performance Also thinking back to the first week when they weren't sure if she could be warm or whether she was just a one-trick pony and then this week's performance was so warm, no way is she a one trick pony! Also thinking, it would be interesting to hear her sing a classical piece, I know she has grade 8 singing with distinction, so she must be rather good at that as well. And surely that's just as relevant, if not more so, than some of the songs they give them |

We got a hint of her classical training last night when she sang "So don't be afraid", however I think she stumbled on one note (I personally didn't notice) and that was that. She got criticised from it, even tho I thought it was lovely and enhanced her performance. I have so much faith in Niamh's talent and ability, and they are not allowing her to show her true potential. True Colours is a lovely song, but its just that. Lovely. Sweet. But not mind-bogglingly brilliant. When Niamh sang, the reaction she got was "That was lovely." or "Aw that was really nice." Not "WOW you blew me away" which I know she CAN do. OK, rant over

But I would guess Denise has little if any experience with classical vocal training or music, and mistook this as her voice 'cracking'. I do think it would be good to have a vocal specialist on the panel though, to have someone who could focus completely on looking at the vocals, Andrew seems to have a pretty good idea, from some of his comments last night, but he's still trying to look at everything at once. |

Yep, I think maybe she posibly had a wee bit of trouble and fell back on her classical training when flicking up to the higher register, I know I have a tendancy to do that when I play folk fiddle and flicking back to classical violin technique

I've just listened to Candyman again and I'm probably biased but Niamh's voice really stands out in it, and when the 3 girls are singing together I thhink it's Niamh's voice that shines through. I think her days are limited now in the competition but I'm pretty sure she'll go onto bigger and better things

I thought the same; I saw it as her classical training, not her voice cracking. I actually thought it was quite impressive

Exactly. Sam was awesome in that number dance-wise, Niamh was awesome vocally (Sam will still good singing and Niamh good dancing, but they were their strongest points) Jessie just didn't do anything for me at all last night. She's very talented, I'm not slating her, I just didn't feel she was at her best, and she deserved to be in the sing-off IMO. I've never heard DVO sing, and from some comments I've heard I don't want to. But jeez voice cracking? Did she hear Rachel last week? Cos 1 person commented on Rachel's screech last week, Niamh uses falsetto and apparently shes cracking... I also agree that she's probably gonna be next out, not that she isn't good, but she seems to have the least followers. But who knows? She did really well last week, and she was driven by her sing-off the week before. She could pull something really spectacular out of the bag, and Jessie seems to be slipping, so who knows? But no matter what happens the future's definitely bright for Niamh. Especially cos she has ALW on her side to help her out

Yes, it would be nice to hear Niamh sing a classical piece but not in this show as it wouldn't help her get cast as Nancy!
I'm not sure it was just her training that caused the problems last night in her solo - she definitely missed some notes. I liked her performance and she recovered well but it could have been better and I'm sure she knows that. Just rewatched Candyman and I agree that she was very good in that and even better on a second viewing. I like that she has a unique sound to her voice - definite star potential. I wish her lots of luck in her exams. It can't be easy to keep studying while taking part in IDA. |

I dunno what it is but she did it everytime she sang the word "Colours". I agree- Candyman really showed off Niamh. She shone so much- such a wee star!

I love that as well. I think True Colours was a really pretty performance, I didn't think it was her best but then everyone had a poor week and I actually did think Niamh was one of the best. My favourite performance by Niamh is still Wind Beneath My Wings, thought that was amazing
![]() ![]() Agreed, not her best, but not as bad as people are making out. Sames, I cried when she sang Wind Beneath My Wings ![]()

I think "Wind Beneath my Wings" if my fave too and I also thought she was very good in week 1 with "First Cut".
I'm off out for a few hours but will pop back later to catch up with the results show outcome. I fear the forum will become a bit fierce. There's already a lot of whinging going on (not here, I hasten to add! ). It makes me wonder why some people bother watching. I guess they just like a good moan. |
