The ban on phone votes for the Olivers was maybe one thing but are the ones who are knocked out every week also not getting the same attention as the Nancys? As the girls seems to get more coverage.

I also guess the Nancys were picked due to their looks than talent cause they all look pretty.

As far as I could gather from yesterday's show, each week one potential Oliver gets Willy Wonka's golden ticket to the semi-final - yesterday it was Gwion who was confirmed for the semi-final. Next week should see another one going through to the next stage, but all 12 will still be there for the show, with 11 trying to get one of the places.

I think that's how it works...

That's my take on it too - sort of positive selection as opposed to negative rejection.

It's bad enough seeing the disappointment of the adults - I don't think I could bear to see the tears of youngsters.

Though you do wonder how the others feel about Gwion being singled out as the first to go through.

I don't really understand how this is going to work. If one of them gets chosen each week, won't they all be chosen eventually (except for one or two) and be in the semi-final? Does anyone have any insider gen on how the selection actually works?

In the audition notes it stated that ALL the Olivers would stay for the first 6 weeks or so, if I remember correctly. 3 are picked so I suspect that 6 will remain for the final? I may be wrong!

And they could offer parts as members of Fagin's gang to the ones who weren't Olivers, so they'd all have something to look forward to,

That would be a good idea PP. How many boys are there in the gang?

I thought there were only going to be 3 playing Oliver so surely 2 will be picked and then the others will be waiting for the third to be picked out of 10

The way it will work is that 8 of the boys will get picked and get an Oliver hat. The rest will not go through.
Out of the 8 ALW will pick the final 3 for the show.
Hope that clears things up!

Any hope of the ones who don't get Oliver being in Fagin's gang though? That would be great.

From what I have heard and it is a VERY reliable source all the boys will get parts from this I would presume that would mean being in Fagins gang.........
