No, he was frozen until 2009, not running around meeting the Doc!

Corwin did a great timeline in the "Fragments" thread.

We now have FOUR Jacks in 1941!

The original time agent/con man who met the Doctor in "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances"
The Jack who travelled back to 1879 after "The Parting of the Ways" and had to live through to the present day, working for Torchwood.
The Jack who was sent back in time in Bilis Manger's dancehall in "Captain Jack Harkness"
And now, the current Jack, sent back to 27 AD, buried alive under Cardiff for 1900 or so years and then frozen in the vaults until 2009 (only point that spoiled the episode for me really - he should have set his alarm for earlier and stopped the Cardiff explosions really! Or lots of other things!).

Not to mention the *proper* Captain Jack Harkness of course!

Can't see that happening, not next series at least. I think he will be in the freezer a while.

Based on what?

Nope I think it's safe to say they are both gone...it would diminish the episode if we later found Owen was still alive....

That would have caused a paradox, meaning the entire universe could be in danger

Was anyone else thinking 'If the power station goes into meltdown the Earth could be destroyed'? As the doctor mentioned it in series 1, due to it being on top of the rift.

I am so glad that the gorgeous Ianto is still with us. I hope he gets more one-liners in the next series.

After the well acted scenes tonight it would be sad to bring Owen back. It would take away from the impact of his death. Besides he the living dead and I think his ending was quite fitting to the character he became IMO

I can't believe they killed off two of the main characters.
I did read the spoilers but i am still shocked.

Brilliant episode.

I'm sad that Tosh and Owen have died, but the show must go on.

I really didn't like Gwen during S1 but during S2 she has grown on me.

Does anyone else think that Rhys might be a new member of Torchwood?

Does anyone else want to see a Captain John spin off?

I do!

Well if Joss Whedon doesn't want to do a Spike one then we should have John!

LOL i agree, all through the episode I was like, 'he so cant be american' and then on decalssified, he had an english accent..it was a pretty bad attempt to sound along the lines of Jack.

Question

Did Capt Jack ever find his own body frozen, he must have at sometime, otherwise it would have been an empty coffin

Maybe they didn't check the coffin things when they took over?

The Torchwood back in the past could have also put a time lock on it that owuldn't open till that point to stop a paradox happening.

Brilliant finale, Tosh and Owen were my least favourites yet their death scenes had me holding back sobs!

I'd forgotten that - was it Margaret Slitheen's power station, I wonder? If she got to be Mayor, even though she then suddenly disappeared, the plans seemed to be well on the way!

I am totally going to hold on to the hope that Owen was taken by the rift.

The actor is English and from what I can tell I think he based the American accent on Jack's.

I'm sure Jack must have come across himself more than once before.

*goes to naughty step*

That is a paradox. And why did no one else find his body?
