We have a fab one in Kingston. Best at weekends tho because they have more selection than during the week. Its a bargain at £7.50 a head

I have a few near me - not too keen to be honest! The food isn't that great and they are more interested in bums on seats than making it a pleasurable eating experience!

I'm in central London, lunchtimes are cheaper £6 I think? Evenings are a few quid more as they have "duck".

Its fine for a quick bite to eat, cheap and cheerful etc.... Although I'd much prefer to go to a Miso!!!

Unfortunately quantity takes precedence over quality. Still what do you expect when they offer "all you can eat" for stupidly low prices ???

I went to a really good one in hastings, cant remember what its called but its huge and its on the seafront. The food was excellent too.

I agree, most are terrible. There is one near me that is all you can eat but cooked fresh from a menu, that is much better.

In Worcester we have one called Angel Chef and it is pretty good most of the time.. It is always pretty full so the food doesn't hang around too long and some of the staff come round with sample platters for people to try different dishes.

Daytime is pretty cheap (about 6 quid I think), It costs more in the evening (a tenner?) but you get a shed load more dishes at night (crispy duck etc).

I've never been to a Chinese buffet. They smell great whenever I walk past but have never ventured inside. Truth be told, I'm a bit wary as the food's left out for a while and I'd be worried in case I got food poisoning!

We have a few near me but I dont think they are that great, best Chinese buffets I've had was in the States, the range of dishes were awesome.

I went to one recently for lunch and the food was quite good. It was only 5.50 a head, so it was quite cheap. Only thing I can complain about is the fact one of the waiters could only understand the most basic of phrases. If we said anything complicated, he couldn't understand us at all.
Although personally, it wasn't really a problem for me as I could speak to him in Chinese.

The one near me is £14 during the evening, the quality is excellent but you need to be sure that you eat plenty to ensure value for money.

I *much* prefer a noodle bar to a buffet. And it's cheaper, too.

Big plate of noodles with sauce of some sort (curry, satay, sweet & sour, black bean...) for £3-4. Excellent value.

My favourite place lets you order plain rice or noodles and separate dishes of prawns, squid, chicken, etc. from the starter menu. The starter portions are too big to eat as a starter. Hong Kong style prawns.... mmmmm.

We have lots of them around here, only one that I wouldn't go to again. The nearest one near me is the Furama, which is always hot, tasty and plentiful. Costs about £6.50 for lunch and £12 for the evening meals; which as it is an all you can eat is great for me.

I am surprised at some of the comments about other places, I certainly have never felt that any of the buffet places I have been to in Glasgow, Edinburgh or elsewhere; have just been about bums on seats. As for food poisoning, best rule of thumb - if its busy, you should be safe as the food will be eaten reasonably quickly and replenished quickly. Certainly is the case at the Furama.

Is that the one in the Rotunda, called Finesse, or the little one by the Works nightclub, or a different one altogether?!

Either way, they're both nice, but the one in the Rotunda is better as you can get up and get your own food, unlike the other where you order like a restaurant.

I tried to go there the other day but they weren't open til 6pm for some stuuupid reason!

There's a fantastic one at Oriental City (Yaohan Plaza) in London NW9, with roast duck, dim sum and all sorts of lovely things, at around £6 lunchtime and a bit more at dinner.

But the whole complex is going to close down soon.

Why does the chicken or pork need to be in balls? Is the fact that it is sliced instead that off putting for you?

Me too. I think it closes at the end of April or May and then it will be redeveloped into offices or a B&Q or something...

Dragon BBQ at the Broadway Plaza, Birmingham was really good. Massive selection of dishes and they even had about ten types of sauces. Dessert choice was good - cream cakes, jelly, icecream, fritters. We used t go in the daytime and it was a fiver I think. If you go in the evening they also have a bbq, which you can supplement with the buffet as well, I didn't ever go in the evening, and it was dearer but I bet it is worth it still.

I used to go loads of times to two in Greenwich. One is called Wing Wah, near the old Greenwich hospital, and the other is Saigon Buffet, in the town centre. Both very good, a fiver in the day, and I think it was £8/9 in the evening. Daytime was good enough, and the evening had even more dishes, like salmon, muscles, and such like.

I went to one in Soho, I can't remember the name of it but it was awful. They only had about 10 dishes, most of which were padded out with LOADS of onions. The food was minging. It was only a fiver but I think they should paid ME a fiver to eat that slop!

I don't go to buffets anymore as I do prefer freshly cooked food.

i do like buffets but its always the greasy, congealed stuff you get...we have a cosmos and an asian express near me, cant say anthing about the latter but cosmos was rather nice (although i threw up twice after eating it!) lol greasy food doesnt sit too well with me!
