Lost all of my ITV and C4 channels
Red Bess

Hi everyone,

I've been a keen DS lurker for years now but was finally moved to post when I lost all ITV and C4 channels (bar E4+1 bizarrely) this weekend: my transmitter's Winter Hill and I had no reception at all.

I read through the backlog of posts about this subject to glean some new info: I re-scanned relentlessly but this backfired as the last one didn't pick up these channels at all and my other half saved the search. I understand that these channels pose problems for all sorts of reasons, and we've tried scanning on other channels (at the moment we're on 66). Also tried reading around the subject but I can't say I understand Mux, etc.

We've got an aerial guy coming tomorrow to quote us (don't currently have one), hoping this will make a difference. The question is, do you guys think it will solve my problem? The ball-park quote is £95 incl fitting, but I have no frame of reference as to whether this is good or not.

Any advice on this subject would be very gratefully received.
Many thanks.

Assuming the quote is for an aerial suitable for digital and the downlead is double screened then £95 sounds reasonable. What do you mean by "don't currently have one"? If you really have no aerial then anything will make a wonderous improvement but do you mean you currently have some sort of internal aerial?
