Hi

Got a new phone on Vodafone contract and was wondering if there are any numbers I can dial to get an on screen rundown of how many minutes/texts I have used/left?

Something similar to the pays as you go *#1345# for balance?

I looked on their website and all i could find about checkign anything was to sign up online...it did give 191 for customer services...so try that and i'd assume like most networks you'll get allowance info

it's 44555 from your handset but that only works after you've had your 1st bill.

i found vodafones online minutes and texts remaining system very unreliable, i cant stress enough how important it is to use your phones built in counters, they say it can be 72 hours out of date, and it doesnt appear as it is but what you have to remember is they might well add calls from a few minutes ago on the website but there will be others that havent been added instantly. its confusing, i now have an outstanding bill of £42 lol ive now switched to orange and i can say that the remaining minutes + texts system is a lot better, you can browse to the free wap page and it seems almost like real time

I call 191 but as has been said they can be up to 72 hours behind. Sorry for mini thread hijack but does the K750i have an inbuilt counter?

Yes it does, go to Menu -> Settings -> Calls tab -> Time & Cost, and you'll find call, text, MMS and data counters in there.

You can reset them manually yourself; this is the same for any recent Sony E phone (I've got a K850i, that's where it's found.) My only problem right now is that i've got unlimited o2 to o2 calls, and 400 mins to other networks; I've no way of checking how the 400 mins are doing without logging on to o2's website and looking at my bill from there. Ah well, guess it's good that most of the people I call regularly are on o2!

The N95 8GB doesnt seem to have this option, yet another option this supposedly high-end phone doesnt have compared to older phones.

I think you may need to have a good look around your phone or read the user guide. (eg. Look for the Log)

Those instructions were for a Sony Ericsson phone. It's highly likely that the N95 will have a similar set up, but it'll be under a different name, or kept in a different place

On the original N95 its:

Menu>log

I guess the N95 8GB would be the same
