No service since Saturday - any Tiscali people care to help?

Not sure if any Tiscali staff read through this board but I've had no service since Saturday afternoon and I am getting conflicting information from the technical help department ranging from 'there was a fault and it was resolved Monday morning' to 'people are their right now because alarms in the exchange are going off'. None of the staff who believe the problem to be ongoing have any sort of estimate on completion time.

Either way I wondered if someone reliable could give me a straight answer about what's going on please. I'm on the Perivale exchange and I'm a HC customer.

I would run for the hills! I got rid of them in 2001 for much the same problem as you are having.

Nothing changes with them it would seem.

lol, the irony is that I have had HC since I moved to London in 2005 and have had a perfect service including a home move and am leaving the service in favour of VM in 12 days due to another home move - I got so close!

Virgin are lovely. I have had them since 2001. Good luck with your new supplier.

I'm not sure where to go on the Tiscali website to obtain a Tiscali email address which is required to post in that Forum. Please advise.

this will give you a PAYG dial up account. Just don't use the dial up and you won't have to pay.

What relevance is the service from 7 years ago to a specific problem he's having in his exchange?
Different network, different equipment, different exchange, different service, different owner.

The relevance is that despite all of the above it's still the same shockingly bad levels of customer service and it would seem that the arse still does not know what the elbow is doing

That's only your opinion. I have some friends who use Tiscali for phone/ADSL & TV and they think it's great.

I get the feeling this guy actually works for Tiscali. Say one bad thing against the service and he defends the service like his life depended on it. Sorry Peter but you have to realise people have their own opinions on the service. Just because you have a great experience of Tiscali doesn't mean that everyone else has.

Personally though this doesn't suprise me in the slightest and Tiscali did this to my service, when I had Tiscali, a couple of times. They need to brief their customer services team better as 9 times out of 10 they just haven't got a clue as you get so many conflicting stories!! At least with Homechoice they would put service information on their CS phone service and on their website. Tiscali is rather a joke when it comes to this!!

And conversely, just because a dozen people have a bad experience with Tiscali, doesn't mean everyone has. It fact, it proves the vast majority of customers are happy because they are not complaining.

I have friends who say otherwise. One of them in particular moaned about the terrible service and the lack of a MAC.

I once met a bloke in a pub who said sky were fantastic in bed & Virgin would never kiss & sell your browsing. !!!111(one)


There are some vociferous X-tiscali posters on here who still give voice to their grievances , (& often correct & valid I grant you) but seem to do so almost daily .

& as for '7 Years ago...' , it's really time to move on m8. Some people posting on here were still celebrating the New Millenium 7 years ago.
