Hello!

Does anyone know when Oliver is going to be on, what theatre it is at, and when tickets go on sale?

It's probably a bit early, but I'm going abroad for three months shortly and I don't want to miss out on getting my dirty paws on some Oliver tickets for when I come back. I can get my sister to book them for me, but I'd like to know a rough date so I can check up on her .

Thanks!

Ooh thanks for that. What is the website?

That is very late, I saw Joseph in September last year I think, and it'd been running for a while already. Maybe they want to give Nancy more rehearsal time?

It could also be due to them waiting for a free theatre. Once they get the free venue, it depends on how technical the set is going to be. I am not suggesting Oliver is going to be anything like Billy Elliot, but Billy Elliot production team were in the theatre for up to a year before the show opened, as it was such a technical set and holes had to be dug etc etc, so who knows why it is opening that late, maybe they want to rest the chosen Nancy before the rehearsals start as, there have been problems with previous shows where the chosen person suffered from tired voices and vocal problems etc etc. As much as they need to be able to do 8 shows a week, we have to remember that these girls have been in this NAncy Whirlwind, since the Beginning of Feb, some late January, so it has been non stop since then.

Yeah, I looked it up and Lord of the Rings is on at the moment, closing in July, and Oliver starts from December.

Joseph previewed in July, so you're right that waiting for a free theatre and sorting the set is what is making Oliver! a lot later than Joseph. I think it'll be a good thing for the chosen Nancy.

On the official website (the exact name of which escapes me, sorry) you can sign up for a newsletter to keep you updated on the progress.

Drury Lane stage is going to require a complete rebuild after LOTR gets out (saw it on Saturday) so it will take time.
