Just been looking at Ebay and sure enough (as usual) Reading Festival tickets are being sold for vastly inflated prices. I'm fed up with seeing people selling tickets on Ebay by those who had no intention of going to Reading Festival only to make a quick buck as they know its popular.
It's really annoying for those genuine Festival goers who want to go for the music but find they can't and are forced to buy rip off tickets on Ebay.
It's about time that Festival Republic sorted this mess out once and for all, if Glastonbury can stop the touts i'm sure the same can be done for Reading.

Anyone else agree?

I completely agree, I wasnt able to get tickets off any reputable sites, despite being online since 6.45 last night!! And just thinking of those people getting the tickets, with no intention of even attending the event really really angers me!!! People who actually just want to go, are unable to get tickets, while these touts are taking the tickets we could of had, and doubling/tripling the price!!!! cant ebay and other sites stop people putting tickets for festivals up!!!!

It looks as if tickets are still available via the legit channels, and there are always further batches released before the festival. So much as I dislike touting, at the moment there's no need to buy from touts.

What did annoy me was how hard it was to buy online yesterday evening. There were obviously problems with the ticket agencies' systems and with the fees they charge they ought to be able to afford equipment that works.

Agree with everything. Inkblot you're so right - it's never taken me and my friends as long to get tickets online as it did last night, or to even get on the sites.

They should expect the traffic on the sites so it's really very poor to be so ill-prepared.

Glastonbury and Arctics and doubtless other bands/companies have ways of getting tickets to the real fans so why don't Reading and Leeds?

The problem is, the sites and the promoters know they will sell out so they are reluctant to do anything about it. As long as they get their £155 a ticket they're not really bothered who it's off.
