halifax ultimate rewards current, phone insurance?

hey just got the new halifax current account called ultimate rewards. comes with phone insurance and i have a unlocked 02 16gb iphone, would this be able to be covered as it isn't used on 02 iphone network and with t-mobile. or is it just the phone thats covered with the imei number

Its normally just the IMEI the insurance needs. You normally have to register this with them prior to making any claim, and keep it updated when you change your handset.

Check the details of your insurance documents or call Halifax to double check. Also check the value they insure up to. A lot of insurances will only cover a certain value of handset and as yours is worth in excess of £300 they might not cover all of it.

just registered the imei number and asked the phone model and i said iphone and they asked the service provider and if it was contract i said t-mobile. they said thanks very much thats you covered, so it doesnt matter about the 02 and unlocking the iphone, dont know about how they how if mines is a 8gb or 16gb if i ever claim, how would i prove this ?

You would need your original receipt in the event of a claim, this would state 16gb

I took out the Advantage Blue account with Nat West to use the phone insurance and when I tried to insure my phone they said they would not cover an N95 as too expensive. Even though Nat West said that it could be covered when I enquired!! Took me ages to get the Advantage Blue taken off my account , even though I went straight to a branch and signed a form saying I wanted out. I have now added my phone to my contents insurance for an extra £25 per year.

when i told the halifax ultimate rewards operator on phone which model i had i said apple iphone she said what network i was im on contract t-mobile, she said thanks is there anything else i can help you with today, so i presume im covered. waiting on insurance certificate coming through in post
